What to Expect From Fallout 76's 2024 Holiday Scorched Event

Holiday events are some of the best times to obtain rare items in online games, and it’s no different for Fallout 76 players. Luckily, the Fallout 76 Holiday Scorched Event is coming up soon for the end-of-year holiday season. This holiday event will run for two weeks, from Dec 17, 2024 to Jan 2, 2025, and will be a chance for players to collect rare items through farming Holiday Scorched, which only appear during Holiday Scorched Events.

The main focus of the Fallout 76 Holiday Scorched Events involves the spawning of Holiday Scorched, a variant of the usual plague-ridden enemy. These Scorched are very easy to spot, and drop Gift-Wrapped loot that has a chance to be rare. Gifts extend beyond the Holiday Scorched though, and players have the opportunity to use the Santatron to passively farm gifts, while vendors will begin selling Gift Wrap, which will allow players to build their own gifts at the Workbench.

Players Can Expect to Fight a Lot of Fallout 76’s Holiday Scorched

The upcoming Holiday Scorched Event will see Fallout 76‘s Scorched dressed in Santa outfits. Holiday Scorched are usually heard before they’re seen as they’re accompanied by the sound of jingling bells. Defeating them allows players to collect the loot they drop, which will include items such as new and rare plans. Holiday Scorched will appear anywhere Scorched normally spawn.

Holiday Scorched Gift Drops

As a holiday event, when defeated, a Holiday Scorched will appropriately drop a gift. These gifts are random and will vary in quality between a small, regular, or large Holiday gift. The quality increases depending on the size of the gift that drops, and increases the chances of receiving a rare reward. Holiday Scorched will continue to spawn in an area as long as their Alpha remains alive, so players would be wise to wait to defeat the Holiday Scorched’s leader last.

Trade-In The Collectatron For a Santatron

One of the best ways to prepare for the upcoming Fallout 76 Holiday Scorched Event is to obtain a camp Santatron and have it ready before the event. The Santatron will farm different gifts that become available during the Holiday Scorched Event. Beyond a camp Santatron, another good idea is to build more Santatrons in workshops and program those to farm Holiday Gifts, so that several Santatrons are farming at the same time.

Gifts play a large role in the Holiday Scorched Event, and some may not want to farm them by killing Holiday Scorched. It is possible to create gifts at a Tinker’s Workbench, which will require purchasing Gift Wrap from a train station vendor, or the vendor at Whitespring Mall. The vendors will begin selling Gift Wrap on December 17. Gift Wrap can be expensive, so players will want to begin saving caps as soon as possible.

There are three types of Gift Wrap, but the most cost-efficient one to get is the Medium quality. Once acquired, it’s possible to build gifts at the Workbench and then open them. While this is an option that allows control over the quality of the gifts received, there is a limited amount of gifts that are possible to build based on budget and the amount of Gift Wrap that the Vendors have available to sell. Meanwhile, Holiday Scorched spawn indefinitely during this period.
