My Hero Academia: 10 Best Students Not In Class 1-A
Class 1-A might have the main character, but there are other great students in My Hero Academia.
Although UA’s teachers are undoubtedly some of the best, others exist outside school grounds, dropping nuggets of wisdom and supporting their charges whenever needed. From daylight and underground Heroes to those who have largely retired, here are the best teachers in My Hero Academia.
10
Ishiyama Ken
Cementoss
Calm and not easy to anger, Cementoss – or Ishiyama Ken – is the Modern Literature teacher at UA. As you could guess by his Hero Name, Cementoss has the ability to control any cement-based material. His Quirk was used to erect the platforms for the Sports Festival, and he used it to devastating effect during the Final Exam.
Cementoss is polite and generally level-headed and is outspoken concerning the well-being of students. He prioritises the safety of Japanese citizens when on the field, and understands the mortal danger of battling Villains, but is ready to surrender his life if necessary.
9
Ectoplasm
Despite his unusual and intimidating appearance, Ectoplasm is gentle, patient, and a fan of karaoke. Ectoplasm lost his legs during a run-in with a Villain, but adjusted well to his disability and continues as a Pro-Hero.
A Mathematics teacher, Ectoplasm has a Clones Quirk, which grants him the ability to create many clones of himself. He’s not afraid to hold back when it comes to training students in Heroics, believing that they needed to get better fast due to the League of Villains’ growing presence.
8
Snipe
Although Snipe does not get as much screen time as he should, he steals the scene every time he comes on. A Heroics teacher, Snipe is responsible for overseeing the third-year Hero course students.
Snipe has a Homing Quirk, which allows the projectiles he unleashes to seek out his intended targets, maintaining lethal accuracy. Calm and collected, Snipe is able to maintain a level head during high-pressure situations and is wary against making hasty decisions.
7
Kan Sekijiro
Blood Hero: Vlad King
The homeroom teacher for Class 1-B, Vlad King – real name Kan Sekijiro – is passionate about the futures of his students. He gets super competitive with Class 1-A, believing that his students were being overshadowed by the media spotlight on the Class 1-A students.
He encourages his students to go beyond training their skills and Quirk development. Despite the perceived rivalry with Class 1-A, Vlad King doesn’t pick favourites when it comes to shielding them from Villain attacks, not hesitating to use his Blood Control Quirk to attack Dabi during the Training Camp Arc.
6
Nemuri Kayama
R-Rated Hero: Midnight
Midnight – real name Nemuri Kayama – is a Pro-Hero and a Modern Art History teacher at UA. She is flirty and provocative, which fits her entire public persona as Midnight. She has a Somnambulist Quirk, wherein she releases a gas that puts others to sleep.
She is obsessed with youth and gets fired up when someone comments about her age. However, she lends an ear to the concerns of her students and gently encourages them whenever they’re insecure about their appearance or abilities.
5
Yamada Hizashi
Voice Hero: Present Mic
Eraser Head’s best friend and fellow UA High Alumni, Present Mic works as a daylight hero and English teacher. He also runs a radio show called ‘Put Your Hands Up Radio’ and is the go-to announcer/narrator for any and all events happening in the series.
Loud, dramatic and deathly afraid of insects, Present Mic uses his Voice Quirk to draw attention and tends to be blunt to the point of rudeness, such as commentating on a student’s physical appearance during the Sports Festival. Despite his lively persona, he cares a great deal for his students and friends, growing extremely angry over his friend Shirakumo’s fate.
4
Nezu
Before becoming the Principal of UA High, Nezu was once subject to scientific experimentation by humans which left him scarred. His High Specs Quirk makes him supremely intelligent, and capable of strategic planning to outdo his opponents.
A dog-mouse-bear hybrid, Nezu is well-mannered and cheery, and has his students’ safety and well-being in mind. He still bears a grudge against humans, however, and derives pleasure in torturing them with intricate mind games while cackling over a well-brewed cup of tea.
3
Toshinori Yagi
All Might
The Symbol of Peace and former Number One Hero, All Might – real name Toshinori Yagi – knew his time with One For All was coming to a close. He needed a new, worthy successor to pass on his powerful Quirk to, and chose Midoriya Izuku for the task.

He made a training schedule for Midoriya to prepare his body for the onslaught of One For All but had trouble assisting Midoriya in using the Quirk without severe side effects. All Might becomes a father figure to Midoriya, showing concern whenever he places himself in unnecessary danger. However, as a veteran Pro-Hero, he readily gives out combat tips and moves to UA’s Hero students, even doling out advice to resolve Bakugo and Midoriya’s long-running feud.
2
Torino Sorahiko
Gran Torino
Gran Torino is a long-retired Pro-Hero that may have seen better days, but don’t be fooled, as this old-timer can still pack a nasty punch. Torino was an old friend of One For All user Nana Shimura and was also responsible for training Nana’s successor, Toshinori Yagi (aka All Might). He made such an impression on All Might that the man remained frightened of Torino long after he became an established hero.
Torino came to train All Might’s successor, Midoriya Izuku, helping him learn to use One For All without injuring himself. He even returned to the field briefly, helping take down several Nomus during the Stain debacle and investigating All For One.
1
Aizawa Shouta
Erasure Hero: Eraser Head
Homeroom teacher for Class 1-A, Aizawa Shouta – also known as Eraser Head – initially seemed like a scary and intimidating figure. However, he is good at heart and is always available whenever his students need support.
Aizawa is strict, setting high standards for his students, and is notorious for expelling students he deems unfit for hero work. He uses his Erasure Quirk to control the class, erasing the Quirks of the more rambunctious of his students (note: Bakugo). Although he might seem uncaring at first glance, Aizawa is quick to protect his students, putting his life on the line more often than not.
