Even if Eeveelutions aren’t your thing, you can look forward to an assortment of the most popular legendary and pseudo-legendary Dragon-type Pokemon. These are the most valuable cards in Evolving Skies, from solo arts like the Dragonite V to trainer and Pokemon combinations like Zinnia with her Rayquaza V.

Umbreon VMAX still leads the way among Evolving Skies’ best cards, finally crossing the $1,000 mark and setting a new standard for some of the newer cards in the Scarlet & Violet era to follow.

Leafeon V (Alternate Full Art) – $80.54

Rolling In The Leaves

The “V” variety of full art cards in Evolving Skies offers gorgeous scenes of beloved Eeveelutions enjoying their days before eventually growing to mammoth size in the VMAX artwork. Leafeon is a perfect example of simplicity done right, with this card’s scene standing out as a beautifully serene moment.

This card began 2024 valued at under $50, but made a massive run toward the triple digits in the second half of 2024, climbing from $67 in August to its current market price as it continues to find a place among the best Leafeon cards ever and one of Evolving Skies’ best cards.

Glaceon V (Alternate Full Art) – $83.22

Glaceon Is Just Chilling

The Glaceon V Alt Full Art isn’t even among the top few most expensive cards in Evolving Skies, yet it commands value similar to some top chase cards in Sword and Shield’s most valuable booster boxes. Glaceon V’s design is worth its high price, with the adorable icy scene among the best Glaceon card art ever.

While there’s the VMAX version still to come, there’s no doubt that this V version – and the other Eeveelution V’s are all exceptional examples of peak Pokemon TCG art.

Sylveon V (Alternate Full Art) – $86.73

A Kid In A Candy Store

This sweet Sylveon scene stands out from the rest as one of the most upbeat depictions of an Eeveelution in the entire set, as some of the other V Alternate Full Art cards tend to lean toward relaxing or neutral scenes. However, Sylveon seems as excited to be here as we are to get our hands on this stunning card.

While Sylveon’s price chart doesn’t indicate a consistently upward trend in 2024 as Leafeon’s did, this card soared to incredible heights in June 2024, with its high at around $95. However, Sylveon backed off from this price but doesn’t seem to be straying too far as it will likely reach $100 in the future.

Espeon V (Alternate Full Art) – $111.15

A Slice-Of-Life Gem

Espeon V boasts one of the most underrated arts in the set, with its attention to detail and perfect embodiment of Espeon’s personality. This powerful Psychic-type Pokemon uses its supernatural abilities to levitate books while reading them simultaneously.

If you’re an Espeon fan, this card is a must-have, given that few other cards feature this Pokemon in a whimsical art style.

While Espeon’s VMAX Alt Art Secret version isn’t in Evolving Skies (it’s in Fusion Strike), the V card’s incredible art can easily carry the load for this Eeveelution.

Rayquaza V (Alternate Full Art) – $122.22

Look Out For Zinnia And Rayquaza

Zinnia and Rayquaza are on the same page in this incredible scene, as they face in opposite directions – almost back-to-back if it were possible to be in such a position with Rayquaza. This card is soaring in value with its alt art friends, as the raw card price now exceeds the former PSA 10 price.

Rayquaza is an incredibly popular Pokemon, and while Zinnia’s popularity might not equal the green Dragon’s, she’s certainly one of the coolest trainers depicted in the set.

Dragonite V (Alternate Full Art) – $162.57

Don’t Sleep On The Original Pseudo-Legendary Dragon

Dragonite is one of the most recognizable Pokemon among the original 151, and its glorious sleepy appearance in Evolving Skies features one of the best Dragonite arts since its adorable iteration in Fossil.

Whether or not you like Dragonite, this card deserves to be included in Evolving Skies among some of the most adorable Eeveelution art ever. Though it looks ready for a nap, it would be a mistake to sleep on the potential this card is showing as one of Evolving Skies’ best cards.

Umbreon V (Alternate Full Art) – $168.27

The Other Umbreon Is Making A Run

While the VMAX Umbreon made Evolving Skies famous, Umbreon V features the gorgeous art of one of the most popular Pokemon ever. The scene depicted has Umbreon on a pedestal above a group of other Pokemon – much like its position among the most valuable Evolving Skies cards.

Though its rise in value has been meteoric, there’s no telling what the limit is for this card, as it could continue to rise based on Umbreon’s star status in the Pokemon community.

Sylveon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $216.40

Sylveon’s Biggest Moment

The gorgeous Sylveon VMAX puts the pink Fairy-type in one of the brightest scenes in the entire set, surrounding her with some amazing fellow Pokemon. The art is eye-catching, and Sylveon’s prominent position makes it easy to miss the other inclusions.

Though it doesn’t match the popularity of some other Eeveelutions, Sylveon gets incredible love in this set with some appropriately cute art.

An Ice-Type Favorite Freezes Pikachu

Very few Pokemon overshadow Pikachu on a card, but Glaceon puts the Pokemon mascot in ice as it jubilantly stands above a frozen pond. Glaceon VMAX features one of the coolest arts in the Evolving Skies in more ways than one and gives Glaceon a place among the best.

From timid beginnings in the Glaceon V art to its prominent showcasing in the VMAX version, Glaceon claims two spots among the most valuable cards in Evolving Skies.

Leafeon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $277.88

The Greatest Leafeon Of All Time

While Leafeon is seldom included among the most popular Eeveelutions, this stunning (and aggressively cute) art in its Evolving Skies Alt Art Secret version puts it second to only one other Eeveelution to come. You don’t even have to like Leafeon to laugh at how funny the scene depicted is from a human’s perspective.

Imagine watching a super-sized Leafeon play with a massive hay bail on a farm – that would be a surreal sight, even for Ash Ketchum. Its absurdity aside, the unique card art somewhat justifies a massive $315 price tag; it’s hard to imagine a PSA 10 was once far less.

Rayquaza VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $468.01

A Flight To The Top

Rayquaza’s second appearance on this list would have been enough to justify being the runaway winner for the most expensive card in almost any other modern set, but it faces stiff competition. Though it settles for second place, Rayquaza’s soaring flight above a verdant scene mimics its price’s trajectory.

Though its body can get a bit lost in the scene given the green-on-green color palette, the card shines when viewed up close, as the detailed background complements Rayquaza’s nuanced coiling design.

Umbreon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $1,382.46

A Modern Grail Worth The Hype

What more can you say about the Umbron VMAX, also known as “Moonbreon“? This card has received incredible hype since its release in 2021 and still commands our collective attention like few other modern cards can.

Whether you collect raw cards or graded-only, the Moonbreon won’t come cheap, as its price continues to climb beyond expectations. While no increase can last forever, there’s no doubt that the demand for the most valuable card in Evolving Skies is higher than ever.
