Marvel Rivals has a wide array of well-known heroes and villains for players to choose from; few are as iconic as Spider-Man. Spider-Man is one of the game’s Duelist characters, meaning he is perfect for getting right where he needs to be. This lets him deal out plenty of damage, and is perfect for players looking for an aggressive playstyle.
While Spider-Man is a phenomenal character, he is also one of the most difficult in the entire roster. His combat requires players to plant Spider-Tracers on enemies at a distance and then close said distance to engage in melee combat. New players should try out an easier character first, one with either 1 or 2 stars.

Spider-Man’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
- Spider-Man’s Health: 250 Health
- Spider-Man’s Difficulty: 5 Stars
- Spider-Man’s Role: Duelist
Marvel Rival’s Spider-Man is a tricky character to get a feel for — and one of the hardest to master in general. Spider-Man is an incredibly fun character to play and well worth trying just for the enjoyment of his playstyle — even if players are not that good with him.
Spider-Man has had many unique powers in different video games, but his lineup in Marvel Rivals feels like a “Best Of” collection for his most iconic abilities.
Ability Name |
Ability Type |
Description |
---|---|---|
Spider-Power |
Primary Attack |
Spider-Man’s enhanced strength takes center stage as his primary attack. Spider-Man will start combos with his fists but will also throw in kicks as players chain their attacks into combos. This attack will receive bonus damage if the enemy has a Spider-Tracer planted on them. |
Web-Cluster |
Secondary Attack |
Spider-Man’s secondary attack fires a web-based projectile, dealing some damage to its targets. This ability also pays homage to Peter Parker’s genius intellect by planting a spider-themed gadget known as a Spider-Tracer on his foe. |
Web-Swing |
Activated Ability |
With the press of a button, Spider-Man shoots out a line of web and swings with enough speed to clear large spans of a stage. Players trying to push an escorted object a little further will be able to get back to it faster than most of the game’s roster with this ability. |
Get Over Here! |
Activated Ability |
Just like the iconic Mortal Kombat move of the same name, this ability will yank an enemy from where they stand into Spider-Man’s range — perfect for enemies who are on the objective. If your foe has a Spider-Tracer on them, Spider-Man will instead pull himself towards them. |
Amazing Combo |
Activated Ability |
Using this ability will cause Spider-Man to hit his target up into the air, making them vulnerable to follow-up attacks from teammates. What’s more, players will get increased damage if they have a Spider-Tracer on their enemies. |
Thwip and Flip |
Activated Ability |
While some heroes are capable of flight in the game, Spider-Man is one of the few that can make use of a double jump. Simply press jump a second time after the first. |
Spider-Sense |
Passive Ability |
Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense will go off when enemies are close by. This can help prevent an enemy getting a jump on the player. |
Wall Crawl |
Passive Ability |
Players are able to crawl along vertical surfaces but can also run along them to get to the top faster. |
Suit Expulsion |
Team-Up Ability |
When Venom is among your teammates, Spider-Man gets a whole extra activated ability. Players will notice part of a symbiote lingering on their bodies at all times. Activating it will cause it to lash out all around Spider-Man, dealing damage to any nearby enemies. Venom can also be a Team-Up option for Penny Parker. |
Spectacular Spin |
Ultimate Ability |
Spider-Man will spin in places, with the player able to slowly move them around. This will cause him to fire out numerous webs in all directions within an area of effect. Very reminiscent of Reaper’s ultimate move in Overwatch 2. Enemies will become wrapped up in webbing, making them easy targets for follow-up damage. Spider-Man also gains a massive health boost while his ultimate is active to prevent enemies from taking him out before they get webbed up. |
When to Use Spider-Man’s Ultimate
Spider-Man’s Ultimate is best used when a large group of enemies have gathered together — try for at least 3. Spider-Man is not able to take them all out on his own, making his Ultimate something that needs to be coordinated well with his teammates.

Marvel Rivals has many iconic heroes, and Iron Man is a great choice for beginners.
Tips and Tricks for Playing Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals
As soon as they leave the spawn area, players should use Web-Sling to close in on the objective. This ability is truly amazing at just how fast it can get players back into the action. Players will want to assess the situation as a whole, using their Web-Cluster to deal out some ranged damage on foes, and then closing in on one of the foes hit. Amazing Combo is perfect when the player has allies targeting an enemy at range, as it can disrupt the enemy’s damage output while putting them at the mercy of the player’s team.
If the player sees enemies clustering around the objective, they can swing to an advantageous point, then use Get Over Here! to pull one of the enemies off the objective. If there is a single enemy on the objective, they can instead use Web-Cluster to plant a Spider-Tracer on the foe, then pull themselves onto the objective to deal increased damage against their foe.
Spider-Man works best with a team of players that are in constant vocal communication. It is easy to underutilize this hero when playing in a random group or with teammates who are unaware of your actions. Play aggressively by making the most of your superior mobility and hitting enemies with Spider-Tracer’s often.
