Being Genshin Impact‘s first character to use multiple elements, the elven cowgirl who flies around on a giant pistol has many things to be curious about. Chasca’s gameplay mechanics seem to be just as chaotic as her character and personality, having more variations and randomness than the game’s gacha!

If you’ve ever wanted to fly forever with no downtime in Teyvat, or if you just want to blast away enemies with reactions, there are certain things you may not be able to figure out when you first pick Chasca up. Here are some tips that let you make full use of Chasca’s might!
1
Can You Play Xilonen With Chasca?
Yes, But It Won’t Be An Improvement
We already covered how Chasca needs PECH (Pyro, Electro, Cryo, and Hydro) teammates to fully use her scalings since losing out on a single bullet means that that specific bullet does 60 percent less damage. However, Xilonen provides such a strong Elemental RES shred and DMG Bonus due to the Scroll of The Hero of Cinder City artifact set that you may wonder if she can negate this downside.
If you want to play her, it can certainly work. The overall difference in damage to Chasca’s DPS might be negligible. However, since it won’t exactly improve her damage in any meaningful way, even putting a level one Barbara in your team can provide Chasca with just as much damage.

Flying Perpetually
Dominate Natlan’s Skies
Exploration is one of the things Chasca’s best at, being able to zip across the sky at speeds and comfort no other character can even hope to achieve. However, you can take this one step further, never touching the ground as you become a true aerial cowgirl.

Whether looking to make Nahida a DPS or Support, these are the best weapons you can equip her with.
To do this, you’ll need either Kinich
or Ororon. You use the Natlan character force-switch mechanic to switch to either character just as Chasca’s Elemental Skill runs off and stay in the air. Then, once Chasca’s cooldown is up, you can force-switch back to her and rinse and repeat.
This only works in Natlan.
3
Doing Reactions More Consistently
Build Your Teams Accordingly
Chasca’s damage is very random. While she can perform a flurry of reactions, the randomness makes it very easy to often waste away your entire rotation without a single one triggering. While there’s no way to fully fix this, there are certain teams that improve her consistency.
Namely, you can use reactions that can put multiple auras on enemies at once, such as Electrocharged or Freeze. Where you normally only hit one reaction per three shots on average, you can see how a Freeze-Vape-Melt team can increase consistency to where she has a 66.67 percent chance of triggering a reaction compared to the 33 percent chance in her Ororon teams.

Rainbow Teams Vs. Double Element Teams
Is It Worth Losing Out On Her Passives?
Chasca benefits greatly from the number of different elemental characters on her team due to multiple factors. First, one of Chasca’s passives has a chance to give her a fourth enhanced bullet. This chance can go to 100 percent when all party members are of different PECH elements. Similarly, another passive grants Chasca a huge DMG Bonus depending on the number of distinct elements present in the party.

Genshin Impact: Best Battle Pass Weapons For You
If you have Genshin Impact’s Battle Pass, be sure to collect the best weapons you can for your characters.
Whether you want to have a fully rainbow team or not depends highly on how well your other characters are built. If you have an extremely strong Xiangling
, for example, putting both Bennett
and Xiangling
together might still be worth losing out on some personal damage on Chasca.

Losing Out On Reactions Is Not Bad
Other Team Members Make Use Of Them
You may be disheartened at how easy it is to miss reactions on Chasca. However, for most teams, this isn’t as big of an issue as you may think, including Chasca’s best Furina-Bennett core.
Put simply, Chasca losing out on a reaction means another hard-hitter procs it. In a Furina-Bennett core, Chasca would be able to trigger Vaporize. However, if she doesn’t, this simply means either your Xiangling
or Furina
triggered it, and since both of them contribute to a decent portion of your overall DPS, this doesn’t result in you losing out on any damage.
6
Should You Use Chasca’s Tap E?
Pretty Much Never, But There Are Uses
The simple answer is no, it’s almost never worth using due to how low the damage multipliers on it are. However, in some niche scenarios, it can become a somewhat decent part of her kit.
If an enemy has an element on them that might interfere with your reactions, using the Anemo from tapping it can remove it from them. Similarly, if you want to swirl an element to spread it to nearby enemies, or if you’re using an artifact set or a weapon that grants you bonus damage from triggering reactions, this can refresh the duration of the buff.
7
Can You Play Chasca With Xingqiu Or Yelan?
It’ll Be Uncomfortable, But Yes
Like with many other things about Chasca, the answer isn’t simple. Chasca’s Charged Attack during her Elemental Skill does not trigger Xingqiu
and Yelan
‘s coordinated attacks, which, for many, means that the characters don’t work with her.

Genshin Impact is all about creating party synergy with abilities. These bow users offer great utility and some are even free!
However, Chasca can still use the tap attack to have the coordinated attacks function, and then follow up with a Charged Attack. Since Chasca can usually only fit in three to four separate attacks per skill with some time to spare, fitting these in does not affect her rotations. However, whether it’s worth it or not depends on your team, as well as how comfortable you are with weaving in attacks between her Charged Attacks.

Alternate Artifact Options
Wanderer’s Trouple And Marechaussee Hunter
The Obsidian Codex
is undoubtedly Chasca’s best artifact set. However, there are certain cases where others, like the Wanderer’s Troupe, can not only be good alternatives, but even a better option!
The Wanderer’s Troupe has a very big Charged Attack DMG Bonus, and since all six of Chasca’s bullets are considered CA DMG, this increases the damage of every hit. Furthermore, since some synergistic weapons for Chasca such as the Polar Star
or the Hunter’s Path
give her CRIT Rate, using an Obsidian Codex might make her reach more than a hundred percent CRIT, losing out on damage.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is another amazing option that buffs her Charged Attack damage the most out of any other artifact with a massive 50 percent damage to her bullets.
Similarly, the Marachaussee Hunter in Furina teams is an extremely solid option that does the same thing as the Obsidian Codex, increasing your CRIT Rate by up to 36 percent, just four percent less than the Obsidian Codex!
