The island is a big place, and it’s easy to get lost. Thankfully, there’s a way to get around easily–portal doorways. We’ll walk you through how to unlock these doors and use them efficiently so you can speed up your escape from the island.
How To Unlock Fast Travel
Thankfully, you won’t have to run along the beaches for long. Shortly after you meet Hermes, you’ll be helping him feed his beloved seagulls and recover lost mementos that job his memory.
To unlock fast travel, you’ll need to reach friendship level one with Hermes. Once you do, you’ll be able to swap ambrosia fruit with him to obtain the portal keys.
Where To Get Portal Keys
Once you can trade with Hermes, you can immediately purchase any of the portal keys–so long as you have enough fruit. There are a total of nine keys for you to find, and each key goes to a specific door on the island.

The name of the key will give you a hint as to where it goes, with the cheapest keys being in the most accessible areas. Try buying those first!
How To Use The Island Portals
To use the portals, you only need to unlock the door. Step through the open portal once you’ve used the key, and you’ll be transported to the portal hub at the entrance of the temple.
rom there, you can go into any other open portals, run down to the lighthouse, or explore the southern beaches.
Each portal has a symbol beneath it in the hub so you can easily recognize where they lead. If you mix up portals, never fear! Simply run back through the portal and fast travel to the hub, then select the right portal.
It’s completely free to use these doorways to get around the island, and it’s best to check your map to plan your routes ahead of time so you can minimize how much time you spend on foot.
