In Act 1 of Fantasian Neo Dimension, your excursions to the Vibran Royal Palace are brief. Mainly raiding Cheryl’s bed chambers for her necklace before being swiftly put in prison. Not exactly happy conditions to return.

Fantasian is back, exactly as you remember it.
Well they’re not that much happier in Act 2. With Mechteria running rampant across the world, the Vibran Royal Palace isn’t safe either. Upon Cheryl’s request, you head to the capital to check in on it, only to see is taken over by Mechteria. Time to vanquish it all and bring Cheryl back to her throne.
How To Unlock Palace Under Attack
Before you rescue Cheryl and Kina, visiting the Vibran Royal Palace isn’t really an option, though thankfully is not under active attack at that point either. To that end, you must save the pair of sisters before things take a turn for the worse.
After rescuing Kina and Cheryl, both of them will have a quest to offer you, with Cheryl giving you the Palace Under Attack quest.
This is a level 42 quest, so you might want to level up a bit first if you rescued Kina and Cheryl early on.
Reaching The Throne Room
If you’ve visited the Royal Palace before, you can Warp to its entrance immediately. Otherwise, you’ll have to navigate there yourself. It is found to the north-east of the Town Center section of the Capital, only a short jaunt ahead. Amazing that the damage is contained to just the palace.
After entering the grounds of the palace, a brief cutscene will play showing the extent of the Mechteria’s infestation. As you progress forward, enemies will approach you to drag you into battle. Defeat these enemies before gathering up the items around the area.
There are graciously no surprises outside, just relatively weak enemies who you’ve already seen before. Once you reach the top of the stairs, save at Save Point, heal up, and gather up the items. Here’s all of them:
Item |
Location |
---|---|
Onyx L |
The chest on the right at the bottom of the stairs. |
Whetstone |
The chest on the left at the bottom of the stairs. |
Mechterite |
In the upper-right corner past the Save Point, twinkling in the corner. |
Cyclone Ring |
In a chest to the left of the Save Point. |
The Cyclone Ring is incredibly powerful, giving a boost to defense, attack, and speed, and can even be upgraded back at the Secret Base. Mechterite can also be exchanged at Valrika’s Laboratory for unique rewards, so make sure not to miss that.
With all the items found, you can head right inside. This will lead directly to the boss battle, which Cheryl has to be used for, so make sure to position your party appropriately in advance.
Defeating The Infernal Mechteria Blob
This boss might look a little familiar. You fought a variant of them quite a while ago, back in Eastern Vence. The main gimmick back then was to use Knight Impact with Cheryl to attack the boss when its mouth was open. The same is true this time around too, though the boss has some extra complications.
For one, they can easily Petrify any character, and then follow it up the next turn with a move called Ground Shatter. This instantly destroys any Petrified characters, and they can’t be revived or replaced, effectively leaving you with only two characters for the remainder of the fight.
To counter that, we’re going to take a few precautions:
- Give Cheryl and whoever else you want to main (we used Valrika and Ez) a Snow Quartz to nullify Petrification.
- Make sure Cheryl has Double Charge and Knight Impact RNG +. This lets her deal devastating damage, and attack the boss and their additional enemies all at once.
- For Valrika, invest in Arrow Rain + upgrades to hit wider and more, finishing off any enemies that Cheryl doesn’t.
That’s the gist of it. The pattern to follow is Attack Power and Defense Up with Ez, Arrow Rain with Valrika, and then Double Charge and Concentrate with Cheryl before following up with Knight Impact. Try not to attack with Cheryl until you have both Charges.
If you absolutely need to, you can use grenades with Ez to finish off any stragglers from Valrika’s Arrow Rain. These enemies can boost the boss’ defenses and attack you, so it’s worth getting rid of them as soon as possible.
Other than that, you’ll want to aim Knight Impact for when the boss’ mouth is open. This is easiest to tell by when they look upwards, raising a hand towards their mouth at the same time. Make sure your Knight is actually aimed over the mouth, as it can sometimes latch to a nearby enemy instead.
Valrika’s Arrow Rain also deals more damage when the boss’ mouth is open, so time her attacks too.
Provided you keep with this pattern, the boss can be defeated in minutes. Cheryl can deal extraordinary damage when she’s been buffed enough. With the boss defeated, the palace is saved and Cheryl is formally crowned queen, and Garland is informed that Kina is his long-lost daughter.
Cheryl also unlocks the full power of her Divine Artefact, letting her upgrade her Tension skill. Sebastian also has a new quest, one that has him attempting to put Leo in his place for standing up Cheryl all that time ago.
