After defeating Vam in Fantasian Neo Dimension, you are introduced to the Chaos Realm and it’s sole remaining denizen – Valrika. Vam laid waste to her realm in an attempt to stop the ascent of Jas, but as it turns out, it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Fantasian is back, exactly as you remember it.
Vam left a final message for Valrika. That if he were to die, she was to travel to the Chaos Caverns to find something waiting for her. Now it’s your job to get her there safely. And there are plenty of complications along the way.
How To Unlock The Survivor Of Chaos Quest
While Valrika joins the party immediately, you have to make some progress within Act 2 before she actually opens up to you enough to give you her quest. After you’ve completed a few other story quests, such as saving your companions, she will offer it up to you.
You can’t miss this, so don’t worry too much. It will come up sooner or later. She will inform you of Vam’s final wish for her, and ask that you accompany her to the Chaos Cavern. This is found just past the Chaos Lakes area, which was previously inaccessible.
Navigating The Chaos Cavern
After entering the Chaos Cavern, the first thing you’ll notice is it’s a distinctly different colour palette compared to everything outside. The red has been swapped for a deep blue, with bleached rock surrounding your every move.
It’s pretty hard to get lost here, and there aren’t too many new enemies to worry about either. Instead, focusing on finding the many items hidden in this area as you go. The camera swings around a lot in here, so it can be pretty easy to get turned around.
Here’s where to find every item spread around the multiple rooms of the Chaos Cavern:
Item |
Location |
---|---|
Talisman x3 |
After crossing over the river, there will be a chest to the right. |
Whetstone |
At the next crossing, go left to find this chest in the corner. |
SP Capsule |
After crossing the next river, follow along the edge northwards until you reach this chest. |
Soma Stone |
Past the last chest, this one can be found nestled in a corner between some blue trees. |
Order Motes |
Before heading up the white slope, enter the small corner to the left obscured by the slope itself. |
Whetstone |
Find this chest shortly after climbing the slope. |
Chaos Clay |
After defeating Chaos Basilisk, find this chest in the corner from the boss arena’s left exit. |
Elixir |
After exiting the arena towards the next area, take the first left to find this chest. |
Moss Quartz |
After exiting the arena towards the next area, find this chest on the left. |
Shipping Box |
After exiting the arena towards the next area, find this chest on the left, and a little further down. |
Moonstone |
Before entering the large blue field, find this in a chest to the right. |
Order Motes x2 |
Before entering the large blue field, find this in a chest to the left. |
Morganite L |
After exiting the arena towards the next area, find this chest on the left. |
By the time you reach the Whetstone, the boss will be right up next in the center of the area that looks ominously like a boss arena. There will be a Save Point just before it, so make sure to heal up before you head onward right into a fight.
There’s not really any specific item here that isn’t valuable, though the Morganite L can be very helpful for certain builds, while the Shipping Box unlocks some nodes on the Growth Map. Don’t miss the Soma Stone either if you’re still looking for a new weapon for Valrika.
Defeating The Chaos Basilisk
While perhaps not what you might have expected from Vam’s final wish, it is a being of Chaos that you end up battling here, the Chaos Basilisk. It is a being of death itself, and will spend much of the fight attempting to whittle you down bit by bit.
Valrika is required for this fight, so give her some strong jewels to get started. She doesn’t have her Divine Artefact yet so there’s not much in terms of build variety you can achieve here. Do make sure to equip her with a Phantom Quartz though, as well as any other companions you choose to bring. This will nullify Curse.
Chaos Basilisk has no particular weaknesses you can take advantage of here, so just hit them with your most powerful moves. We swapped our party around a lot as we attempted the battle without Curse nullilfication, though a recommended party would be Leo and Ez alongside Valrika for the buffs and powerful attacks.
Initially, the boss will attack you physically, and with a move that slows and poisons you. This isn’t the most damaging of attacks, but the move Tail Breaker is. Make sure you keep Defence Up active as much as possible, and have Prickle cast Barrier All when the chance is available too.
Once the boss gets low on HP, they will use a move called World of Death which casts an aura over the whole battlefield that inflicts Curse every turn. Curse cannot be cured by skills, and will just be inflicted again the next turn anyway. So make sure to use Phantom Quartz.
A core part of this battle, which will nullify many of the boss’ moves, is Mist. Both Petrifying and Death Stare cannot work at all if Mist has been cast on them, so make sure you have Valrika cast Enchanting Mist as often as she can. With this and a Phantom Quartz, World of Death poses no extra threat whatsoever.
After the boss has been defeated, you are free to explore once again. Proceed to the great blue field ahead of here for Valrika to witness the reality of Vam’s actions. He left the essence of her people behind, to allow them to blossom into a thriving Chaos Realm in the future.
With this revelation out of the way, she is granted her Divine Artefact, finally unlocking her Growth Map.
