My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Reveals Pro Hero Deku’s New Suit
The epilogue reveals a lot in MHA. Fans even get to see Deku’s pro hero suit.
Furthermore, fans also got to see Horikoshi, the author of the series, tie up some other loose ends and one of them has to do with Toga, the powerful villain who fans saw fight a brilliant battle in the Final War Saga against Ochaco. In the epilogue of My Hero Academia, it is strongly hinted that Toga might now actually be Vestige, existing inside of Ochaco.
The Previous Vestiges Of The One For All
- The One For All Had Many Vestiges Inside
- Deku Was The Last User Of The One For All
The concept of vestiges is quite an exciting one in My Hero Academia. Fans got to see this concept being brought to life once Deku awakened the power of Blackwhip. This was rather strange, because All Might, and all the other users of the power before him, never showed these powers. But, when Deku wielded One For All, and the Quirk was at its absolute best, the author introduced the idea of having a piece of the former user of the Quirk inside the power itself. As such, the first user of the Quirk, Yoichi, all the way down to Yagi Toshinori, the 8th user of the Quirk, were all inside the One For All. Of course, they didn’t have physical bodies, but it was almost as if their spirit lay inside the actual Quirk. The more this power was transferred, the stronger the spirit, and with that, the Quirk ability became stronger as well. This was what made One For All the perfect Quirk to counter All For One and all this power was bestowed to Deku in the story.
Farewell, One For All! – Deku
The vestiges played an incredibly important role in the series. They granted Deku immense power and, at the same time, also gave him a helping hand when he needed it. They guided him through battle, and their wisdom was great enough for Deku to avoid disastrous fates and, at the same time, defeat evil for good in the Final War. The vestiges are, thus, a very important concept in the series, without which peace could likely not have been maintained in Japan.
Sadly, all the vestiges of One For All were eventually transferred to Shigaraki in the final war, and eventually, the One For All itself was transferred as well. With the death of Shigaraki, they ceased to exist, and fans knew that all the embers that were left inside of Deku burned out eventually as well, which meant that this Quirk was no more, and all the vestiges that existed inside died out as well.
Toga Hinted To Be A New Vestige Inside Uraraka
Ochaco Uraraka Might Have A Vestige Inside Her
In My Hero Academia chapter 431, Toga and Uraraka’s story took an exciting turn when Horikoshi revealed to the fans the existence of another vestige. At the very beginning of the chapter, Ochaco, who fans know to be the main heroine of My Hero Academia, was seen waking up from a dream. In her dream, she saw Toga once again, and this time, too, she seemed to be nudging Ochaco not to run away from her true feelings. According to Ochaco, Toga started appearing in her dreams way more often since she met Deku once again, because of him receiving his hero armor. Deku now sets out on hero duty every now and then, and that essentially means that she gets to cross paths with him a few times a week.
Maybe she exists inside of me because our blood was mixed. You know, like One For All? – Ochaco
In the past month, Toga started appearing in her dreams quite often, and this was rather strange to her. These dreams don’t feel normal. As was seen in the conversation that Ochaco shared with Tsuyu, the dreams are somewhat different because it is almost as if Toga is trying to talk to her.

My Hero Academia Fans Are Furious With Adult Deku’s Portrayal
Deku’s portrayal at the end of MHA has upset many fans. Here’s what Togashi did with his character and why.
According to Ochaco, the situation could be somewhat unique and she wonders if Toga is actually living inside her body as a vestige. The reason as to why that could be the case is quite simple. Toga shared her own blood with Ochaco and saved her life. It is because of this blood mixing that Toga could essentially have become a vestige and exists now inside of Ochaco. To be clear, the author didn’t outright say that Toga exists as a Vestige inside Ochaco. It is up to the fans to interpret things as how they are. But, it can be said that it is strongly hinted that Toga actually exists inside her as a vestige.
This is made especially clear when, towards the end of the epilogue, Toga is seen talking to Ochaco in a separate dimension, which seems to be a different plane of existence entirely. The two can be seen conversing and it was Toga who actually caused Ochaco to speak with Deku and confess her true feelings once again. As such, Toga’s spirit, in some form, actually does exist inside of Ochaco.
Toga’s Role As A Vestige Of Ochaco Uraraka
- Toga Could Aid Ochaco’s Relationship With Deku
- Toga Can Be Of Help In Battle
It is unclear to what extent the author will play with the idea of Toga being a vestige inside Ochaco. For one, it seems that Toga is deeply invested in her relationship with Deku, or more so, Ochaco putting herself first for once and listening to her true feelings. Regardless of what those feelings are and for whom they exist, Toga wants Ochaco to be happy. For that reason, she was responsible for Ochaco finally starting to date Deku. But, vestige is not going to be limited to just that. It is possible that after this event, Toga will stop appearing in her dreams. But it is also possible that she will continue appearing in her dreams whenever she needs help because, at the end of the day, these two are bound by blood now. It would also be incredibly cool if Ochaco could utilize the powers of Toga, similar to how Deku got a piece of the vestiges’ powers through the One For All. Of course, the concept of stockpiling power doesn’t exist in this case, and Deku gained all those abilities because such was the nature of One For All. But, it would still be a cool concept, nonetheless.
If My Hero Academia were to ever get another chapter by the author, fans can only hope that they get to see Ochaco at the forefront of things and the status of Toga as a vestige inside her body is expanded upon further.
