Key Takeaways
- GTA 6’s reveal trailer just celebrated its first anniversary, and fans are still finding hidden details.
- One detail is that a second texture from the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition files can be seen in the trailer.
- The texture in question is a simple shop sign, but it’s right there in the window when the alligator enters the store.
Truly eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto fans have somehow managed to spot yet another texture from GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition hiding within the reveal trailer for GTA 6.
As painful as it is that we haven’t heard any news about GTA 6 in the year since it was first announced (aside from it still being on track for Fall 2025), there has been one interesting benefit from all that extra time – fans completely dissecting the reveal trailer. Over what I can only assume is hundreds of replays, Rockstar detectives have managed to uncover a number of details.

Forget GTA, Half Life Is Gaming’s Original Event Series
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the gaming event of the 2020s, but Half-Life 3 will do something truly new.
One of the more recent discoveries was that a single texture from the files of the controversial GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition could be seen hiding in plain sight in the GTA 6 reveal trailer. This raised more questions than it answered, and it seems that’s about to happen again now another texture has been spotted.
GTA 6 Has At Least Two Textures From The GTA Trilogy
Over on the most patient subreddit of the year, Redditor Jad_jd revealed that a second texture from the GTA Trilogy has been found hiding in the GTA 6 reveal trailer. The texture in question is a sign that simply lists some groceries, including beer, wine, juice, fresh veg, and, most importantly, cigarettes.
This unassuming bit of background fodder was somehow spotted on the door of the shop that’s invaded by an alligator towards the halfway point of the trailer. If you look really close (or just take a peek at the Reddit post) you can see the sign hanging in the door, which has been taken from the Definitive Edition’s files.
Honestly, I am flabbergasted that anyone could spot this seeing as how the scene in question is meant to be from the perspective of a blurry security camera.
Once again, this raises some questions about why a texture from the GTA Trilogy is being used in GTA 6, something that Redditor kingofhearts67 had an answer for. According to them, Rockstar India provided textures for the Definitive Editions and is likely working on GTA 6 as well, with another community member, Bakewithme, claiming they’re working on Vice Beach specifically.
If you’re hoping for some kind of grand reveal linking that texture to the date for Trailer 2, that’s sadly not the case here, but it is yet another interesting find that ties the Definitive Edition a bit closer to GTA 6. Considering how all of that went down, it’s a bit surprising to say the least.
