Key Takeaways
- The Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact will be a powerful hypercarry with unique abilities and Pyro infusion at C6.
- Recent beta footage leaked and showcases the Pyro Traveler’s rotation but lacks equipped Artifacts for more accurate damage numbers.
- Obtaining Pyro Traveler at C6 will be essential for a hypercarry role, and even with the potential for stronger 5-Star characters, the Pyro Traveler looks promising nonetheless.
Recent video footage from the Genshin Impact beta has provided players with a showcase of how powerful the Pyro Traveler can be on certain Vaporize teams. While Mavuika and Citlali are undoubtedly the stars of Version 5.3, the Pyro Traveler has been a popular topic in the Genshin Impact community as well. As opposed to previous ability kits, Natlan will only allow the Traveler to infuse themselves with Pyro in the final Act of its Archon Quest. This anticipation has produced no small amount of hype, which may be impossible for Version 5.3 to meet.
The Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact has been described as a Pyro Xingqiu, but this comparison should only be taken at a surface level. The highlights of the ability kit lie in being able to consistently apply Pyro damage off-field, restore Nightsoul points to Natlan characters, and having Pyro infusion at C6. The latter opens up the possibility of using the Pyro Traveler as a hypercarry, but the question remains if the numbers are there.

Thanks to footage provided by Uncle Balls, an emerging star in the Genshin Impact Leaks community, players can finally form a good impression on the Pyro Traveler’s value as a hypercarry. The video shows the Pyro Traveler going through their rotation against a Ruin Scout. In terms of party composition, Furina and Bennett join the Pyro Traveler to form a powerful core for their Vaporize team. The final party member is Xilonen, one of the best Support characters in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Is the Pyro Traveler Worth It?
It should be noted that while the damage numbers in the footage seem paltry, this Pyro Traveler doesn’t have any Artifacts equipped. Given that Artifacts in Genshin Impact tend to be a major source of power, the Pyro Traveler’s damage should be significantly higher under normal circumstances. However, the true value of the footage lies in how smooth the team rotation is, especially after the recent build reduced the cooldown of the Pyro Traveler’s Elemental Skill by 2 seconds. With the Obsidian Codex set and a proper weapon, the Pyro Traveler could theoretically be able to trigger Vaporize hits higher than 300,000 via their Elemental Burst.
Getting the Pyro Traveler to C6 would be a must-have for anyone wishing to use them in a hypercarry role. While 5-Star characters in Genshin Impact such as Mavuika and Arlecchino will no doubt be better in the same Vaporize team, the overall consensus is leaning positive for the Pyro Traveler. Version 5.3 is expected to launch on January 1, 2025.
