Key Takeaways
- Fortnite has just added several new Spider-Man skins from Across the Spider-Verse.
- Peter B. Parker’s inclusion has annoyed some fans, however, as he’s rocking a particularly unique design.
- Peter doesn’t have his classic Spider-Man suit and there are no options to give him his mask or take away his robe.
Fortnite fans really aren’t happy about Peter B. Parker’s Spider-Verse skin due to it using his pink fluffy bathrobe appearance from Across the Spider-Verse and not offering a masked-up variant.
Although Fortnite’s use of Battle Passes has become both a generally accepted and expected part of both every new Season and pretty much every live-service game, it does have one major drawback – characters and crossovers being locked away forever after being tied to a Pass. There are endless examples of this, but one of the bigger ones is Spider-Man.

The classic comic-book-style Spider-Man skin was introduced in Chapter 3, Season 1 and acted as the final reward for that season’s Battle Pass. As such, there are many players out there who don’t have the classic Spider-Man skin and likely never will, making any chance to get a new Spidey an exciting time for those who missed out.
Peter B. Parker Isn’t The Spider-Man You Were Hoping For
When it was first reported that more Spider-Verse crossover skins were on the way, fans were excited at the possibility of having Peter B. Parker’s take on the classic Spidey look as a purchasable skin in Fortnite. Now that the skins are out, though, it’s become clear that isn’t the case at all.
Rather than having Peter B. Parker in his classic outfit, Fortnite has gone for his bathrobe and slippers look from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While it’s a fun nod to how he looked throughout that entire film, fans aren’t happy with the look that Epic decided to go with, as many of them have made clear on Reddit and Twitter.
The main problem that players have with Peter B. Parker’s look is that, unlike Hobie, he doesn’t have any style options or alternate looks. Fans were hoping to see him with a masked variant, or even with the sweatpants look that he had in Into the Spider-Verse. Basically, they wanted anything but him just being in the fluffy bathrobe.
Usually this wouldn’t be such a problem, but considering how long fans have waited for the chance to have another classic Spider-Man look, it’s extra annoying that Peter has swung onto the scene without even having his mask as an option. While I get the annoyance, Peter B. Parker absolutely clears and is rocking the dad look, so I’m one of the few that is happy.
