After the latest upsets at BLAST Slam 1, it’s clear Team Falcons isn’t the only team that can win a tournament. BetBoom Team and HEROIC took home victories BLAST Slam 1 and PGL Wallachia S2.
This proves that the playing field at ESL One Bangkok 2024 is not as one-sided as we previously anticipated. Of course, Team Falcons is still one of the most likely Dota 2 teams to win ESL One Bangkok 2024. They already have won events this past year, namely the DreamLeague S24 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. Although they lost at BLAST Slam 1, they still put up an incredible performance expected of a team of such calibre.

Notable Challengers
In terms of accomplishments on paper, Team Falcons remains unrivaled. But the team has been on downward trend, and smart money for Dota 2 betting might go elsewhere. a few challengers that can give them a run for their money
BetBoom Team
We will start with the latest champion from BLAST Slam 1, BetBoom Team. This team’s performance throughout the last two years have mostly gone under the radar, but they are consistent. And that’s kudos to Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, the hard carry player of BetBoom, who has a strong record of carrying his team.
PARIVISION
The newest challenger in town is PARIVISION, a new blood roster led by a veteran player, Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko. PARIVISION has risen through the ranks of the EPT Leaderboard, second only to Falcons, BetBoom Team and Team Spirit.
In fact, we would even put them a tier above Team Spirit after their BLAST Slam 1 performance, where they placed third. However, They did lose to eventual champions BetBoom. Compared to other top teams on the EPT Leaderboard, PARIVISION is still an underrated team that can definitely upset several powerhouses.
Honorable Mentions
Team Liquid is worth an honorable mention at ESL One Bangkok 2024. Despite being The International 2024 Champions, Liquid has rapidly fallen in estimations due to lacklustre performances. Team Liquid is still a decent team, but they did lose to PARIVISION in their recent encounter, which is going to hurt their record.
Then, there’s AVULUS, the team that upset some of the best Western European rivals, including Tundra Esports, Gaimin Gladiators and Team OG in the regional qualifier. They are surely a team with potential going into ESL One Bangkok 2024, so keep an eye on them.
Lastly, there’s a new Chinese team called Gaozu, where legendary players like Wang “Ame” Chunyu, Zhang “Paparazi灬” Chengjun and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, currently play together. They are dubbed the new LGD Gaming line-up, which Chinese Dota 2 fans have eagerly waited for.
The ESL One Bangkok 2024 may not have familiar faces, such as Gaimin Gladiators or HEROIC (after their fiasco with Parker). However, this is a high-skill line-up of participating teams that can make ESL One Bangkok 2024 a must-watch.
