Whether it’s hot-swappable keyboards or PC cases, customizing components is now mainstream. Cooler Master hopes more system builders will become adventurous with the new MasterFrame cases. Corsair cases have offered swappable panels, but Cooler Master is taking the concept further. With an adaptable exo-structure, the form and function of the MasterFrame chassis are all configurable. Options start at $199.99, with the manufacturer promising a release in the very near future.
Cooler Master first teased its new creation in an X post with a roughly one-minute video. Viewers see three cases with premium metal-dominated constructions:
Panels snap onto all sides of the cases, and tempered glass, industrial-style grates, and mesh all appear. Fans of wood cases aren’t excluded either, with a natural-looking slab also in the mix. What’s more interesting are the removable brackets and corner connectors holding the chassis together.
Following the social media preview, Cooler Master distributed a press release. The announcement answered some questions, but left other queries unanswered. With the new MasterFrame series, the manufacturer emphasizes the exo-structure design, which provides adaptability for different builds and lots of physical customization.

What Don’t We Know About the MasterFrame Cases?
Cooler Master revealed that the cases will be sold in aluminum (MasterFrame 400, 600, 800) and steel (MasterFrame 300, 500) materials. The model numbers suggest there will be at least five pre-configured candidates. Still, the size of each model and default panels aren’t stated. From the shared media, buyers can expect a compact ITX case and two tower options. It’s unclear whether the smaller tower in the center will be classified as microATX or ATX.
Form factor may not be as critical with the new MasterFrame lineup. Cooler Master is quick to point out that the cases are “configurable to any size.” If the rods that comprise the chassis are interchangeable, owners could create custom cases with different dimensions.
The latest Cooler Master cases are a departure from the MasterFrame 700, which was released in 2021. While the MasterFrame 700 was also endlessly customizable, the open-air case occupied an enormous footprint. Hardware enthusiasts and testers were thrilled working on the chassis, which accepted virtually any component. For gamers who were able to integrate the 700 into their setups, it was one of the best cases for airflow. Compared to the MasterFrame 700, the latest cases will have more conventional shapes. Even so, their modular nature opens the door for unorthodox builds.
With the new MasterFrame creations, builders can expect a well-built case that withstands regular tinkering. At the same time, Cooler Master is reaching out to creative individuals who want to make the most unique builds. The number of replaceable components and ease of modifications will dictate its mass appeal. If the MasterFrame cases aren’t available for sale by CES 2025, we should at least expect to learn more specifics at that event.
