Everyone has that one super wealthy friend, after all.

Author Gege Akutami twisted and explored familiar concepts in an action series and wrapped them up in a neat bow. If you are looking to get the details on the conclusion of the six-year-long series, you have come to the right place.

The Build Up To The End Of Jujutsu Kaisen

By the end of the manga, the three major sorcerer families have been utterly eradicated, some by in-fighting, others by machinations from outside forces.

Along with the families being gone is the complete destruction of the Jutsu Headquarters by Kenjaku, followed quickly by Gojo and then later by Mei-Mei, leaving no one truly in charge of the greater Jujutsu community other than each individual.

Another major point of importance is that Tengen, the former pseudo-religious keeper of Jujutsu society, was absorbed and seemingly killed by Kenjaku.

Tengen isn’t the only one to die during the final arc. Satoru Gojo, Roymen Sukuna, Hajime Kashimo, Iori Hazenoki, Choso, and Uraume all fall during the last stretch of the manga.

The Aftermath Of The Culling Game

Much of the build-up to the end of the series culminated with the Culling Game, a massive battle royale between Jujutsu Sorcerers and Kenjaku to try and force a calamity upon the world.

At the conclusion of the game, Kenjaku hoped to use the power he took by absorbing Tengen to merge all of humanity with Tengen to create a new species and a new world order.

However, since the heroes of the manga were able to defeat Kenjaku, his goal never came to fruition. Even with Kenjaku’s death, the game did not end, leaving Tokyo a center of cursed spirit activity and mostly evacuated by people.

Plenty of people who were wrapped up in Kenjaku’s plot and turned into sorcerers are still alive, and while the new Jujutsu Society isn’t quite sure what to do with them, plenty still live in Tokyo.

Gojo’s Vision Is Inherited By A New Generation

One of the major themes that runs through Jujustu Kaisen comes from Gojo as a dream he strives to reach through his teaching. Gojo wants to set up a new generation of Jujutsu Sorcerers by preparing them for the future, while also clearing the older establishment of rules and restrictions.

This is shown in the mini-caper that is set up in the final two chapters for Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. This has the trio investigating a relatively simple case of a jealous lover’s misguided actions. This new character is arrested and laments his actions, with Yuji telling him to atone for his actions and then come join him and the crew.

This, in a very small way, mirrors what Yuji went through right after consuming Sukana’s first finger. Gojo saw the goodness in Yuji and, despite his orders to have Yuji executed, worked with him to find a place for Yuji in the world.

Yuji will likely bring this philosophy to even more cursed users he finds and helps, further spreading Gojo’s philosophy to the new Jujutsu Society.

Sukuna Finds Peace At Last

Perhaps one of the most striking scenes to end Jujutsu Kaisen is the passing of Sukuna and the revelation that comes with it.

Sukana has been the central villain since the beginning of the series, ever since Yuji swallows one of his many fingers and takes the spirit of the ancient sorcerer into him.

Sukuna is seen in a mysterious void, seemingly between this world and the afterlife, conversing with Mahito. Here, the King of Curses reflects on his life, on the choices he made and where the future takes him.

He leaves, presumably walking into the afterlife, claiming that if he were ever to be reincarnated, he’d change himself. Mahito is upset by this, seemingly not changing in his ways as Sukuna is and is trapped in this mysterious world.

The final scenes of the manga highlight many of the main characters, including Yuta, a Baby Panda, Maki, Toge, Hakari, and the main trio living their lives, smiling (for the most part).

The very last page is of the little shrine that first held Sukuna’s Finger, restored with a new and final finger inside, leaving the manga on a hopeful note.
