Best Wigglytuff Deck Build in Pokemon TCG Pocket

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Wigglytuff ex is a solid card to build a Normal/Colorless deck around. The biggest strength of both Wigglytuff ex and its pre-evolution, Jigglypuff, is the ability to disrupt the opponent by applying the Asleep status effect on their Active Pokemon. When an opponent’s Active Pokemon is asleep, they are unable to use Abilities or attack, and the player must complete a successful coin flip on the turn following the Sleep being applied in order for the Pokemon to wake up. If the player has an unsuccessful coin flip, their Pokemon will remain Asleep until the next possible coin flip opportunity.

Jigglypuff, while it can’t apply damage with its Sing attack can apply Asleep on each turn with just one Energy attached, while Wigglytuff has Sleepy Song, an attack that deals 80 damage per turn and applies Asleep to the active Pokemon on your opponent’s side of the field. Paired with a very decent 140 HP, Wigglytuff ex becomes quite viable at disrupting the opponent and securing knockouts when they are able to consistently apply Sleep.

Alongside Wigglytuff ex, Koffing and Weezing are a popular secondary evolution line to incorporate into this deck build. This is because ‘Normal/Colorless’ attribute cards such as Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff can utilize any kind of Energy, meaning this deck can run entirely off the Dark Type Energy that both Koffing and Weezing need to operate. Weezing’s key strength comes from the ability to apply Poison to the enemy’s Active Pokemon, which can do 10 damage each turn. Unlike Sleep, Posion cannot be cured by a coin flip, so when pairing Poison with Sleep, they become a deadly combo and can cause a real hassle for your opponent to deal with. Lastly, The addition of both X Speed and Koga supports rotation of Wigglytuff and Weezing between your bench and Active spots, enabling you to apply status effects as needed.
