How to Get the Durendal Sword – Black Ops 6

One of the 4 Swords that players can get in the Black Ops 6 Zombies map Citadelle des Morts is that of the Stag Knight, Durendal. This sword offers players great protection through its literal electrifying abilities, and those who want to claim it for their own as their dedicated melee weapon of choice will need to know the exact steps to claim Durendal in Black Ops 6 so that this Electric Sword can conquer all.

Durendal has a few steps to claim it as the prized weapon it can be, and most of the steps simply involve finding items scattered around the map in specific locations, so look below to find out all the necessary steps to get Durendal the Electric Sword in Black Ops 6 Zombies – Citadelle des Morts.

Step 1: Acquire the Stag Bastard Sword

The Stag Bastard Sword is acquired once players reach Round 10, as they will need to acquire a Stamp exclusive to zombies with Templar helmets on their heads that spawn at random. Players must take this stamp to the Dining Hall, where Vulture Aid is found, and then interact with the statue on the closet left to the door leading to the Entrance Hall. This statue is noted for having a stag on the knight statue’s chest, as well as being placed next to wooden boxes. Interacting with the statue with a Stamp provides the Stag Bastard Sword.

Step 2: Find All Lightning Rod Locations

With the Stag Bastard Sword acquired, it’s time to locate 3 Lightning Rods that are found in very specific ways, and here’s how to get them all:

The first Lightning Rod can be found in the Dungeon (by Quick Revive), where waiting around this area for long enough will spawn a zombie that has a Lightning Rod embedded into its chest. Players just need to kill this zombie, and the Lightning Rod will drop and then they can add it to their inventory.

The second Lightning Rod is a static spawn, and can always be found in the same place. This Lightning Rod is located in the Nature Path area by the horse stable that houses Deadshot Daiquiri. When facing Deadshot Daiquiri, look left to a pile of boxes, where the Lightning Rod will just be sitting there waiting to be claimed.

The third Lightning Rod requires players to have either Dead Wire (500 Salvage from The Arsenal) or a Shock Charge (500 Salvage at the Crafting Bench at Level 42). Players must then travel to the Upper Village area, just by Speed Cola. Looking to the East wall with your back to Speed Cola, players will find an electric panel close to a lamp light on the wall. Players just need to shoot this panel with a gun that has Dead Wire to activate it, which will then see the third and final Lightning Rod drop.

Step 3: Electrify the Urn at the Ramparts

With the 3 Lightning Rods acquired, players can then travel through the Courtyard and go up the stairs where Elemental Pop is found to head into the Hillside Ramparts. Once up top, look to the West wall to find an urn. Players can interact with the urn to place all three Lightning Rods inside, which will then begin to spawn purple-eyed zombies and engulf the Ramparts area in a storm.

Players must then hold out their Stag Bastard Sword, and simply wait around and avoid the zombies (or kill them) until lightning strikes the sword. Players must then head to the urn and hit it with the sword that is electrified – noted by its blue hue. Players will need to do this a total of 3 times, so just train around the zombies in the Ramparts, close to the urn, and wait for an electrified sword.

Step 4: Interact with the Urn to Get Durendal

Once players hit the urn with an electrified sword a total of three times, they can interact with the urn to give it their sword. This will imbue the Stag Bastard sword with its upgraded variant: Durendal. Once the animation of the sword being imbued with lightning is complete, players can interact with the urn again to claim Durendal as their own sweet prize and get themselves another upgraded Sword in Citadelle des Morts.

Like the other swords – if players do not wish to wield it anymore, then they can head to the Dining Hall and interact with the Stag Knight statue to place the sword into its receiving hands and get their dedicated melee weapon back in return.

Is the Durendal Electric Sword Good?

​​​​​​​Durendal is a fairly decent sword, and while it does have a cool effect thanks to its Special Attack that allows it to commit to a chain lightning attack that feels and looks like that of the Wunderwaffe DG-2, it is notably weaker than other Special Attacks from the 4 Swords. When Durendal is charged, players receive the same effects as the Deadwire Ammo Mod, but that doesn’t outweigh how weight the Special Attack feels, and as of launch, it is desperately in need of a buff, especially since it basically just tickles Amalgams.
