How to Get the Balmung Sword – Black Ops 6

One of the most popular choices for the swords in Citadelle des Morts is Balmung, also known as the Raven Sword. This mighty Black Ops 6 Wonder Weapon definitely has its advantages, but how can players exactly get their hands on this sharp and pointy melee weapon that makes hacking and slashing the undead hordes so fun?

The Balmung Sword is arguably the most complex of the 4 Swords in Black Ops 6’s Citadelle des Morts, but this guide will make it beyond easy for players to claim the Sword in their own rounds of the map thanks to an easy translation of the Raven Sword code and all solutions.

Step 1: Acquire the Raven Bastard Sword

Players can get their hands on the Raven Bastard Sword by acquiring a Stamp, heading into the Dining Hall by Vulture Aid, and then interacting with the knight statue on the far left. This knight statue is indicated by the stone raven perched on its shoulder, as well as the dragon graffiti behind it. Once players interact with this statue, it will gift players the Raven Bastard Sword that players can equip as their dedicated melee weapon.

Step 2: Find the Antiquity in the Alchemical Lab

With the Raven Bastard Sword now claimed, head into the Alchemical Lab where players must begin their hunt for their specific Antiquity. If players do not have access to the Alchemical Lab, then they simply need to turn on Pack-a-Punch, as the Alchemical Lab is a secret room between the Sitting Rooms (Stamin-Up) and the Dining Hall (Vulture Aid).

Inside the Alchemical Lab, players are looking for a specific item that will be lurking on one of the shelves or desks. The spawn is random, as is the item, so players should scour the Alchemical Lab in search of one of these items:

• Horn
• Jaw Bone
• Fish Fossil (Rock)
• Scorpion Fossil (Rock)
• Bird Skulls

Once players find one of these items, they must then pick it up to proceed with the next step.

Step 3: Solve the Raven Sword Code Puzzle

Players need to bring the Antiquity that they have into the Tavern Cellar. The Tavern can be found in the Town Square (spawn area), or simply by paying 500 Essence to fast travel here from the Pack-a-Punch room. Once inside, the South wall between a Crafting Bench and a zombie spawn hole will have a metal dial. Players will want to interact with this dial to place the Antiquity, and then interact with it again to place the Raven Bastard Sword.

Players can now interact with the Raven Sword puzzle dial, where they have the option to rotate the inner ring with L1 and rotate the outer ring with R1. The objective here is to match the bone fragment that players have with the corresponding Astrology symbol and element using the bottom symbols (closest symbols to the sword). There are only five answers, so here are all the Raven Sword codes, explained:

Once players have aligned the symbols with their Antiquity, hit the Circle/B to submit the answer. If done correctly, music will begin to play and void orbs will sprout from the ground. If done incorrectly, players will need to try again next round.

Step 4: Guide the Orbs into the Shadow Rifts

Now that players have solved the Raven Sword puzzle, purple orbs will slowly begin to follow the player. These orbs can deal a bit of damage, so try to avoid them, but do remember that the objective is to guide them into a void tear that appears in the Tavern. Three orbs must reach the same void tear, and this must be repeated a total of three times.

The first void tear is located in the Tavern Cellar, where just opposite the Crafting Bench, players must make the shadow orbs follow them so that they get sucked into the hole.

The second void tear is located in the Tavern’s first floor, just beside the main doors. Lead these purple orbs into the hole by committing to a slow train like one would do a zombie horde.

The second void tear is found in the Tavern’s second floor just by the dart table and the pool table. Run around the pool table or take the stairs to manipulate the shadow orbs into following.

Step 5: Interact with the Raven Puzzle to Obtain Balmung

The last step concludes with the shadow rifts and shadow orbs step, and all players need to do after finishing the third shadow tear in the Tavern is head back down to the Tavern Cellar where they will be able to interact with the Raven Puzzle Cylinder. Doing so will see the sword sucked into the void, only to emerge seconds later dripping with dark magic. Players can now pick up the Balmung Raven Sword.

If players want to return to Balmung, then they just need to head into the Dining Hall and interact with the Raven Knight statue again, which will see the knight cusp the sword and wait for someone else to claim it again.

Is the Balmung Raven Sword Good?

Balmung is a great upgraded Sword to have in Citadelle des Morts due to its situational activity. Balmung uses the same effects as a Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, so each slash has a random chance to teleport zombies into the sky so that they fall to their deaths. Yet, perhaps the most intriguing of the Balmung’s abilities is its Special Attack, which will see players tear a rift into a dark dimension where zombies will be sucked in and killed, much like a mini-LT53 Kazimir Tactical Equipment.
