Need help completing this quest, which requires you to find and repair a Waydroid? Don’t worry, we’re here to help. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to accept More Than A Willing Spirit, as well as how to fully complete the quest. Additionally, we’ll take a look at the rewards for doing so.

How To Start More Than A Willing Spirit

In order to accept More than A Willing Spirit, you’ll first need to travel to Grit Gate. This is located northeast of Joppa, right at the edge of the western desert. We’ve highlighted its location on the map above; the area appears like a little yellow gate on the map so you can easily find it.

Grit Gate is made up of three initial layers (strata), with staircases going down. These staircases are relatively easy to find, as they are located near each other. Once you make it to the bottom floor, head to the screen north of your location; this leads to the entrance area of the settlement here.

From here, you won’t be able to explore much. You’ll be able to speak with the merchant Mafeo, and interact with the communications panel, but that’s all. Thankfully, this is all you need to do is interact with the communications panel to begin this quest.

After accepting More Than A Willing Spirit, it’s now time to head to Golgotha and find the scrapped waydroid.

Where To Find Golgotha

Golgotha circled on the map.

Golgotha is pretty close to Grit Gate. When looking at the map, you can see its green structure five parsang north and one parsang to the east.

On the surface of Golgotha, you’ll see some slimy shafts, as well as a building that is locked. Inside, there is an elevator shaft that drops down to the bottom of Golgotha. For now, you won’t be able to enter; this can only be accessed once you reach the bottom.

At this point, you’ll need to find one of the green shafts and jump down. This will place you on the underground portion of Golgotha.

It’s important to note that once you jump down, you won’t be able to easily get back up. As such, you should prepare accordingly, since the only way to get out is to die or reach the bottom.

Descending Golgotha

Right as you jump into a shaft, you’ll see conveyor belts and trash. Overall, your goal here is to follow the conveyor belts down to the next layer, but this is easier said than done. There are a lot of creatures in this area that can attack you, but you’ll also need to look out for vents.

Vents attach to the side walls and spray out various effects that can deal damage. If you see a vent, try not to stand in the line extending from it for a long period of time, as it can deal a lot of damage. Depending on your game mode, you may need to defeat the enemies on each floor as well, which can be a difficult task.

We suggest bringing some ingredients down with you, as well as Yuckwheat to help with any diseases. This also includes Witchwood Bark and any healing injectors that you can find. If you have some grenades on hand, you can bring them down too, but just know that the space can be tight in some areas.

Ranged weapons will be helpful here, as sometimes, you won’t be able to head towards an enemy if they are surrounded by acid. This includes guns and bows, as well as any thrown weapon.

Leaving can be difficult, so if you have any teleporting recoilers on hand, then this would be a good place to use one (if you are struggling to progress forward or almost dead). For example, with the Joppa Recoiler, you can quickly return to the safety of a village and heal up.

How To Find The Scrapped Waydroid

Golgotha is made out of five strata, with the bottom one being called the Cloaca. Here, you’ll find the waydroid that you need for this quest. In the Cloaca, you’ll also run into Slog of the Cloaca. This creature can be hostile if your reputation with the Mollusks faction is poor. If you have a good relationship, then Slog will not attack, and you can take the droid and get out of there.

When you pick up the waydroid, it will go into your inventory. By interacting with it here, you’ll be able to repair the droid. This process doesn’t require any skill or tools; you’ll just be able to immediately repair the droid and return to Grit Gate.

At the bottom of Golgotha, you’ll find a switch that pairs up with a shaft, which takes you back to the top. Once at the top, you’ll be in the previously locked room. Near the door, you can find another switch that opens the door, allowing you to pass through and leave.

How To Complete More Than A Willing Spirit

With the repaired droid in hand, head back to Grit Gate and speak on the communications panel. From here, you should be able to proceed into the settlement area and speak with Otho, who can be found in the first room directly to the left of the entrance.

After speaking with Otho, the quest will be completed! At this point, you’ll get rewards based on your current level (a choice of ranged weapons), as well as access to the quest Decoding the Signal.

You’ll also now be able to explore the area and talk with other NPCs who live in Grit Gate. This includes the main area, as well as tunnels that can be reached via staircases in the area. Overall, you’ll have a lot to explore now. On top of this, you can also learn the local recipe, which is Porridge.
