Every Zombies map in the history of Call of Duty has featured both complicated, long process Easter eggs and silly, short ones. Each has its own rewards and adds a unique thrill to the Zombies experience. With the release of Citadelle des Morts in Season One Reloaded of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, we now have an ancient castle to explore, uncovering its secrets and learning what happened there.
Alongside the main Easter eggs, there are plenty of optional ones to complete. However, one particular silly Easter egg stands out in this new map, and it’s related to rats – yes, rats! You’ll see what we’re talking about in this guide, so keep reading.
How To Get Cheese
“Rats love cheese” may be a myth, but since this is a video game, the first thing we need to do is get our hands on some fresh, high-quality cheese.
Fortunately, you can find some in the spawn area. Look for a red display window with red cheese on it.
Break the window using your melee attack and interact with the cheese to pick it up. Next, your task is to find ten rats scattered around the map.
When you approach a rat’s location, all you need to do is stand there until the rat escapes.
Every Rat Location
Rat Location #1
The first rat can be found just to the left of the cheese display window, underneath the plant.
Rat Location #2
The second rat is located by taking the right entrance from the spawn area, underneath the broken car.
Rat Location #3
Make your way to the left path, and near the Deadshot machine, you’ll find a hole in the wall where the rat will be outside.
Rat Location #4
Next, head towards the cannon, and on the left side of it, you’ll find some wooden stairs.
The first step will be broken, and the rat will be there.
Rat Location #5
For the fifth rat, make your way inside the castle. To the right of the Juggernaut machine, move past it, and you’ll find two chairs.
Underneath one of them, you’ll spot the little rat.
Rat Location #6
Follow the path ahead, which will lead you to the throne room where the four knight statues are located.
On the right side, you’ll find some wooden boxes, with a rat hidden underneath the wooden pallet.
Rat Location #7
The sixth rat is located in the underground area of the castle, specifically in the same room where Quick Revive is.
You’ll find it inside one of the cell rooms there.
Rat Location #8
From here, make your way tothe Undercroft, and by the hole in the wall next to the Mystery Box, you’ll find a wandering rat there.
Rat Location #9
Make your way back to the ground floor of the castle and head to the room where Stamin-Up is.
In the left corner, near the desk, you’ll find a rat underneath the table next to it.
Rat Location #10
For the final rat location, make your way to the Alchemical Lab room. Here, you’ll find a stone with some symbols on it.
Just behind it, you’ll spot the tenth and final rat.
How To Activate The Rat King Easter Egg
Now that you’ve found all the rats and made them run away, they’ll gather in the room with the Pack-a-Punch machine.
Here, you’ll find all ten rats waiting near a plate. This is where the cheese part comes in, interact with the plate to place the cheese there for them.
Shortly after, the rats will disappear, and you’ll receive some good loot for your effort. Not only that, but you’ll also be able to pick up a crown and become the Rat King.
We’re not sure if the crown has a functional use or if it’s purely cosmetic, but who really cares when you’re the Rat King of Citadelle des Morts?
