Following the disbandment and restructuring of Griffin & Kryuger, the largest Private Military Company, you now operate as a Bounty Hunter aboard the Mobile Construction Vehicle (MCV) Elmo. Joining you are a group of former T-Doll operators, including OTs-14, now referred to as Groza, who acts as your adjutant, alongside Mayling Shen, your logistics officer and mechanic. Together, you embark on a new journey in a world rife with danger and opportunity.

The game introduces a fresh turn-based tactical role-playing system. Players command a squad of 4 to 5 T-Dolls to complete mission objectives such as reaching specific locations, extracting from combat zones, or eliminating enemies. Strategic positioning and skillful planning are critical as you guide your team through intense battles. 

T-Doll Class System

T-Dolls are categorized into four distinct classes, each with a specific role:

• Bulwark Class: Specializes in tanking, providing defensive buffs to the team.
• Sentinel Class: Focuses on damage output, serving as the squad’s primary DPS.
• Vanguard Class: Acts as a scout, offering mobility for flanking and sub-DPS roles.
• Support Class: Provides healing and buffs to enhance team survivability and performance.

Gameplay Systems

The gameplay in Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium is divided into several categories, each offering unique challenges and rewards:

1) Story Campaign

The main story currently spans up to Chapter 8 in the Chinese version, with both Normal and Hard modes available. Hard mode unlocks after completing Chapter 5-5. The campaign also includes the “Hunter Assessment,” an advanced tutorial designed to help commanders refine their skills.

2) Supply Missions

These missions provide materials essential for upgrading your T-Dolls. Most sections can be completed indefinitely, but the “Standardizing Sync” sub-mode is limited to two daily attempts.

Clearing all challenges in a tier advances your tier level and grants rewards such as Sabrina shards, tickets, materials, and weapon attachment boxes. Crossroad Challenge is an endgame boss battle mode available weekly.
• Combat Exercise: Unlocked at Commander Level 30, this mode includes offline PvP battles where you face AI-controlled opponents. Reaching Adept V rank in this mode unlocks the online PvP mode, Military Simulation. Both modes reset weekly.
• Peak Value Assessment: A weekly “tower” mode where you progress through groups, each containing five stages, to earn rewards.
• Expansion Drills: A bi-weekly challenge featuring up to 10 stages. Commanders can attempt the highest available stage based on their level, and completing it will automatically grant rewards from previous stages. Rewards include Precision Boost Chips used to enhance weapon attachment stats.

Stamina System

The game employs a stamina system called Intelligence Puzzle, which refreshes daily at 05:00 UTC-5. Initially capped at 180, the maximum amount increases with your Commander Level, reaching up to 240. Excess stamina is stored in the Intelligence Storage within the Dispatch Room, and upgrading the Dispatch Room increases storage capacity.

Stamina can be replenished through:

• Access Keys: Each key restores 60 Intelligence Puzzles.
• Collapse Pieces: These can be spent to restore stamina, with up to nine uses per day costing a total of 200 Collapse Pieces.

Skill Enhancement System

The Skill Training system has transitioned into a “Fortification” system. Duplicate T-Dolls no longer unlock new skills but are used to enhance existing ones. All T-Dolls start with their full skill set, and duplicates now serve to improve skill effectiveness.

Commander Level and Progression

Your Commander Level determines the maximum level of your T-Dolls and weapons, as well as unlocking new story stages and gameplay modes. The maximum Commander Level is 60. Experience points (EXP) for leveling up can be obtained from:

• Story Campaigns: Each repeat rewards 10 EXP, while one-time clears grant 100 EXP.
• Supply Missions: Sub-modes reward 10–20 EXP, while “Targeted Study” provides 30 EXP.
• Daily Missions: These can grant up to 300 EXP daily.

Early progression should focus on using stamina to enhance characters by upgrading their EXP, weapons, and limit break materials, even though this yields less Commander EXP. Around Commander Level 50, shift your focus to farming weapon attachments in “Targeted Study,” which becomes the core of endgame grinding.

Unlocking Modes and Features

Progression in Commander Level and story completion is crucial to accessing various gameplay modes. For example, the online PvP mode Military Simulation unlocks after achieving a specific rank in offline PvP (Combat Evaluation). Similarly, higher-level modes like Boss Fight and Expansion Drills are gated behind specific Commander Levels.

Procurement and Gacha System

The “Production” system is the standard gacha system. There are two main banners: Standard Procurement and Limited Procurement.

• Standard Procurement is a permanent banner featuring six base SSR T-Dolls (Mosin-Nagant, Peritya, Qionjiu, Sabrina, Tololo, and Vepley) along with their corresponding SSR weapons. Players can obtain SSR units through a guaranteed pity at 80 pulls, with an additional one-time SSR selection pity at 260 pulls. Tickets, called “Access Permissions,” are used for rolls and can be earned through events, objectives, or in-game shops.
• Limited Procurement focuses on introducing new or rerun T-Dolls and weapons. It is split into two separate banners for characters and weapons, each offering higher rates for their respective SSR items.
• Beginner Procurement is a banner for new-comers of the game where you are guaranteed to get a Standard T-Doll in about 50 pulls. This banner will cease to exist once the player pulls the guaranteed character. 

Currency System

There are three main currencies in Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium:

• Collapse Pieces: This is the non-premium currency used for purchasing stamina, items, and summon tickets. It can be earned through achievements, events, battle passes, and weekly challenges like PvP and Boss Battles.
• Sardis Gold: Used for upgrading T-Dolls and weapons, it is primarily earned through the “Standardizing Sync” sub-mode in Supply Missions, along with other challenges and events.
• Credit Tokens: The premium currency is used to purchase packs and costumes in the cash shop. It can be converted to Collapse Pieces on a 1:1 ratio, though this is generally not recommended unless needed for summons.

Character and Weapon Skins

Cosmetic customization has expanded in Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium. Character skins can be purchased directly from the cash shop or obtained for free during events. Some skins include dormitory functionality, indicated by specific icons such as a sofa or pistol. Additionally, weapon skins are available through events, the shop, or by oathing a T-Doll. Be sure to check the icons on skins before purchasing to confirm their compatibility with dormitory use.
