eFootball 2025 Epic Germany Pack Review

eFootball 2025 Epic Germany Matthaus cover

KONAMI’s eFootball 2025 dropped the v4.2.0 update with new features and of course, new packs. With the Captain Tsubasa collaboration, we have the Epic Germany pack running for twenty days, and you might get the pack after collecting enough coins for the game. Most of the players have already gone for the pack before this review was dropped but still, if you are looking to go for this pack, let me share my review of the Epic Germany pack.

I have all three players and I went for the Tsubasa-themed pack because I’m personally a fan of the anime and the card design was unique instead of the repetitive double photo. My review is after trying them out in both Legend AI and PvP matches in multiple formations and tactics.

Karl Heinz Rummenigge

  • Card Type: Epic
  • Position: CF
  • Playstyle: Goal Poacher

Without a doubt, this might be the card everyone is begging to pull. During PES days, he was the Meta himself. One of the greatest strikers of all time, Rummenigge’s new double booster card screams awesomeness. He is the perfect striker for players who love pace and precision. His card boasts incredible stats in Offensive Awareness, Finishing, and Speed.

I tailored his build to focus on Dribbling a bit, and he is just as I expected, lethal. Honestly, I haven’t noticed much of a difference with KONAMI slapping him with the Phenomenal Finishing skill. His balance was already top-notch, and he’s always been an accurate striker in the game. It’s hard to say if the label really adds anything noticeable, but he’s a beast regardless.

Now, I want to bring in a comparison because I already pulled Suarez the previous week from the Epic FC Barcelona MSN Pack and to be judging them, I felt Suarez to be the better one. His finishing is cracked, his runs are my favourite thing about him. Rumme is easier to predict compared to him, but with 2CF formations, both work.

Lothar Matthaus

  • Card Type: Epic
  • Position: CF
  • Playstyle: Box-to-Box

Unlike most of you who are looking to bag Rummenigge and Kahn, this is the guy I was targeting, and I nearly emptied the box getting this gem of a player. I had his Inter Milan Iconic Moment card back in the PES days (I still hate KONAMI for stealing it from me) and he never left my squad. His legendary card was treated a little too harshly and was in the reserves all the time.

After bagging him, it is fair to say this guy is the best CMF in the game. And no, that’s not just bias talking, this guy covers every blade of grass on the pitch. Maybe it is his player ID, but he is good at every aspect, passing is awesome, good at tackling and recovering, the ball stays on his feet for a long time and of course, contributes effectively on both sides of the pitch.

Statistically, there might be flashier players who catch the eye, but this guy is a true leader on the pitch. His Fortress skill is a game-changer, score a goal, and suddenly your defenders are locked in, fighting like there’s everything to play for. I allocated points to boost his defensive stats and stamina and gave him the Duelling booster to ramp up his defending and speed.

Oliver Kahn

  • Card Type: Epic
  • Position: GK
  • Playstyle: Defensive Goalkeeper

We all know how legendary this guy is, Oliver Kahn is the epitome of a wall in goal. In eFootball, his stats scream reliability, with Reflexes and Catching being his standout attributes. I gave all the GK stats 10 progression upgrades each with the remaining two points for the Aerial ability. With his immense presence in the box, he can singlehandedly change the momentum of the match.

Kahn excels in 1v1 situations, sticks to the line and has great positioning. While his distribution isn’t elite, his long throws can initiate counterattacks effectively. However, he has his downsides. In most matches, I’ve been troubled with Kahn’s slightly slower reactions to low shots, heavily noticeable, and his inability against long-range shooting is quite a dud.

You might say it’s just my playstyle, but having Peter Schmeichel, who is also a Defensive Goalkeeper feels like a cheat code. This guy is absolutely insane, he plugs every gap in the defense like a wall. Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider Kahn an upgrade over him in the game. Buffon could be a close contender, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to pull him yet.

As I mentioned earlier, if you going for the Tsubasa variant, it is available from the 5th of December 2024 and will run for 21 days. If you ask me, Rumme and Matthaus are the SSS tiers of cards. They both will easily improve your game and if you have coins or money to spend, feel free to go for this pack. For Kahn, I wasn’t impressed, you can opt for the Buffon pack if it is still running when you read this review.
