My Hero Academia came to an end in August 2024, marking a successful run in the Weekly Shonen Jump. Horikoshi Kohei’s manga was filled with outstanding characters, many of whom became so popular that they were recognized by other fandoms. As the main protagonist, Midoriya is by far the most popular character in the series.

So, it’s not surprising that he is part of almost all special projects. The author of the manga released a new drawing featuring Midoriya Izuku, All Might, and Spider-Man. The illustration commemorated the decade-long run of the manga while simultaneously paying homage to one of the most iconic superheroes in the entire world. However, this admiration is not one-sided, as the official Marvel X (formerly Twitter) account released a graphic showcasing many of My Hero Academia characters standing alongside some of the biggest names within the Marvel franchise.

Horikoshi Kohei Is Already Working On A New Project

Recently, Horikoshi Kohei revealed that he is working on a new manga. He confirmed that he would be illustrating it as well. However, he did not disclose when the new series would begin serializing. This is obviously great news for My Hero Academia fans and manga aficionados in general, as Horikoshi is one of the best mangaka of this generation. At the time of writing, Horikoshi has not revealed any details about the plot, but that will change in the future.

My Hero Academia started serializing in 2014, and it continued to run until August 2024. During its run, the series announced many projects that helped bolster its popularity further. For starters, it was picked up for an anime adaptation by BONES. The anime turned out to be a major hit with the audience. The success of the anime was reflected in the sales of the My Hero Academia manga. Over time, the manga has sold over 100 million copies, making it one of the few titles to accomplish this feat.

My Hero Academia has also received many film adaptations, with the latest coming out in 2024. Almost all films have received positive reviews from the audience and critics, so it’s hardly surprising that Horikoshi green-lights them.

The series has multiple video games to its name. Some of them are available on consoles, while others were specifically released on consoles. My Hero Academia is also releasing two new books. One of them is an artbook, while the other is a fan book. Originally, they were slated to release in early 2025 but have been delayed to a later date.
