With so much to do after you’re shipwrecked on Ambrosia Island, it’s important to prioritize your relationships with the different islanders. Each one embodies an ancient Greek god, but they’ve lost their memories and their powers. It’s up to you to help them remember and reclaim their past identities.

In the process, you’ll meet headstrong characters like Ares who need more than a little push in the right direction. Will you be able to calm him down enough to accept your aid? We’ll show you how to befriend the god of war and save the sandy paradise in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island!
How To Unlock Ares
To unlock Ares, head to the easternmost door in the temple, then use two seals to unlock it. By now, you should have theses two seals from the gods:
Use them to open the door to the orchard, then speak with Ares. If he’s inside his tent, use the nearby bench to wait for him. He tends to rise early and go to bed early as well.
Ares Friendship Level One
To begin helping Ares with his favor, you’ll need to chat with him a bit first to get to know him. Once you have, he’ll mention the different Amazon statues around the island. He took the gold weapons from them for safekeeping, but now it’s time to return them.
That’s where you come in. While Ares cares for his orchard, you need to place the weapons back with their rightful owners. Below are the weapons and the statues they belong to:
You’ll find the weapons around Ares’ camp, nestled on the weapon racks.
Statue Name |
Weapon |
Location |
---|---|---|
Myrina |
Golden Sword |
In the Cloud Atrium, down the ramp on the left. |
Hippolyta |
Golden Bow |
South of the temple entrance, before you reach the lighthouse. |
Penthesilea |
Golden Axe |
Beside Athena’s tower. |
Once you’ve placed each of the weapons back in their proper places, it’s time to return to Ares. Your next task is to find his missing belongings scattered around the island.
Below are all three mementos you need to collect and where to find them:
Memento Name |
Location |
---|---|
Hero Toy |
Behind the yellow banner on the eastern half of the staircase leading to the Cloud Atrium. |
Cyclops Toy |
Under the wagon in Aphrodite’s Garden. |
Pegasus Toy |
Found east of the temple entrance, buried in a dim brazier. |
After you’ve uncovered everything, you’ll be able to reach friendship level one with Ares. This means you can swap ambrosia fruit with him and visit him inside his tent at any time!
Ares Friendship Level Two
Immediately after you reach level one, Ares will ask you to grab the golden weapons from inside his tent and return them to their proper statues as well. Head inside and grab them–and don’t forget to pick up the seal on the desk!
Below are the right places to deposit the weapons:
Statue Name |
Weapon |
Location |
---|---|---|
Thalestris |
Golden Daggers |
In the center of the Cloud Atrium, between the entrance and Zeus and Hera’s dining area. |
Orithyia |
Golden Sling |
On the west end of Poseidon’s docks, up the stairs by the ladder. |
Otrera |
Golden Shield |
On the beach by the Underworld entrance. |
After the weapons are in place, you’ll be on the search for mementos. This time, you’re looking for trophies from Ares’ battles. Below are the mementos and where to find them:
Memento Name |
Location |
---|---|
Golden Bull |
In the Cloud Atrium, just past the portal. Head south towards the stream. |
Sack of Jewels |
To the left of the Underworld entrance, buried in the sand. |
Marble Bust |
Swap 50 ambrosia fruit with Poseidon. |
Bring everything to Ares, which will increase your friendship level to two. You’re one step closer to restoring Ares’ memories!
Ares Friendship Level Three
To max out your relationship with Ares, you’ll have to complete one more task and find the last of the God of War’s mementos. All you need to do is place an offering of ambrosia fruit at each of the statues.
Statue Name |
Cost |
---|---|
Myrina |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
Hippolyta |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
Penthesilea |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
Myrina |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
Hippolyta |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
Penthesilea |
20 Ambrosia Fruits |
For a grand total of 120 ambrosia fruits, you can successfully make an offering at all six statues. Then, start your search for the war god’s mementos. You’ll only need two of them:
Memento Name |
Location |
---|---|
Shattered War Axe |
Just behind a wind turbine on a secluded island, buried in a dirt mound surrounded by rocks. |
Harvest Sickle |
In Athena’s tower, on a bookcase along the southwestern wall. |
Bring the last of the mementos to Ares to restore his memories and secure your relationship with him. He’ll reward you with his soulstone as thanks!
What Can You Trade Ambrosia Fruit For With Ares?
You can swap ambrosia fruit with Ares as soon as you reach level one friendship, but he won’t offer you goods. Instead, you can pay for access to his orchard.
There are six plots you can purchase, and they’re as follows:
Plot Name |
Cost |
---|---|
Green Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Violet Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Blue Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Yellow Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Indigo Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Orange Plot |
100 Ambrosia Fruits |
Once you’ve unlocked a plot, you can plant one ambrosia fruit in it. After a couple days pass, you can harvest 50 fruits from each plot you planted.
This is the best way to farm ambrosia fruits, as you’ll need plenty towards the end of the game.
