The global launch version of Girls’ Frontline 2 features a healthy list of great characters, but as with all games in this genre, some are significantly better than others. Rerolling accounts is always an option, though doing so won’t mean much if players don’t know who to target in the Beginner Banner.
If you’re completely new to the franchise, then you likely won’t know which 5-star characters are the best. The following is a quick guide covering the basics of rerolling, as well as a general overview of each Beginner Banner character in GFL2 to help players get the best start possible.

How to Reroll in Girls’ Frontline 2
Like in most other gacha games like HSR, rerolling in GFL2 involves making a completely new account and starting over from scratch. Players often reroll accounts in order to get high-priority 5-star characters from the starter banner. This isn’t totally necessary, but if you’re the type who likes to stay ahead of everyone else (or if you just want an easier time overall), then rerolling might be an option.
Is Rerolling Worth It In GFL2?
The answer to this depends on the player. If you’re okay with spending about 20 minutes going through the first few sequences of the game, then by all means, go for it. However, you’ll eventually be able to earn all the standard banner units if you play GFL2 long enough, so if you don’t have the patience to make multiple accounts, or if you just don’t want to redo the opening missions repeatedly, then you might as well stick with your first account.
You need 40 Access Permissions in order to get a guaranteed 5-star character from the Beginner Banner. For every other banner, you need at least 80 pulls.

Qiongjiu
Qiongjiu is all about performing Action Supports, which are basically follow-up shots that trigger whenever an ally attacks an enemy. She can use Action Support up to three times per turn by default (plus one with her Ultimate buff), which means she can constantly lay down damage on a target even after her turn is over. This makes Qiongjiu one of the best damage dealers in the game, and a very high priority unit to roll for at the beginning. Luckily, GFL2 is very friendly to F2P gacha players, so you should be able to get Qiongjiu eventually even if you didn’t get her the first time.
Tololo
Tololo is much like Qiongjiu — her passive allows her to act multiple times per turn by granting her an Extra Action every time she attacks while her Confectance Index (or skill points) is maxed out. She can’t fire as many times as Qiongjiu per turn, but she can move, use skills, and reposition whenever she has an Extra Action, giving her more flexibility in combat. If you don’t get Qiongjiu, try to get Tololo at the very least.
Mosin Nagant
Much like Nemesis, Mosin Nagant is a long-ranged DPS character, but with a penchant for CC and providing extra shots with Action Support. She isn’t a terrible character to get early on, but compared to Tololo and Qiongjiu, Mosin Nagant’s damage output is on the lower side. Still, players can get a ton of value from the crowd-control effects baked into her kit, making her a valuable pick nonetheless.
Sabrina
Sabrina is a tank character like Groza. She thrives on the frontlines, pelting enemies with AOE attacks while protecting allies by taunting targets and creating and destroying cover. The only reason why Sabrina is this low in the priority order is because she’s obtainable via Weekly Boss battles. Getting this character as your first 5-star isn’t terrible though, as she shines brighter once she gets enough duplicates. GFL2’s gacha has a decent pity system as well, so you should be able to get Sabrina dupes in no time.
Peritya
Peritya is an AOE-focused DPS with strong synergy with other AOE damage dealers. Due to her focus on area DPS, she’s going to feel underwhelming at first, especially if you don’t have characters who can deal area damage as well. However, her value increases later on once you get duplicates and a strong team to support her team. As such, Peritya’s reroll value isn’t as high as the others.
Vepley
Vepley is generally not recommended as someone’s first 5-star. Players can get her for free from the Beginner Missions, and while she isn’t part of the Beginner Banner like the rest of the units listed here, players can still get her from the rest of the gacha banners. Vepley is a highly-mobile character who can knock enemies off the map, but since she has such low range compared to everyone else, she often finds herself stuck in bad positions, making her far less valuable.
