Hands-On With Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: More Dishonored Than Wolfenstein
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is MachineGames’ first first-person adventure game, and it’s not what you think it is.
If you’ve found a strange locked chest near the Khentkawes excavation site, or if you stumbled upon a note directing to to find some stolen goods, this guide will help you track down the code and the lock box you’re looking for.
How To Begin The Bright Future Mystery
The note that begins this quest is located in the Nazi Recreation Area, a restricted zone south of the Nazi Compound and west of the Great Sphynx. This is the area where you’ll also find the Harvest Stele in a lock box on the bed of a truck. To begin the quest you need to find the note Pohl’s Letter. The note is located in an area that’s surrounded by fencing and barbed wire. Sneak inside and enter the bigger of the two tents here. In the room at the end where all of the radio equipment is set up, you’ll find Pohl’s Letter sitting on a table. The letter details a soldier who was caught smuggling stolen equipment along the road to Khentkawes. It directs the recipient to check the soldier’s bunk for additional information about his actions, so that’s where we’ll be heading next.
It is significantly easier to explore this area if you already have the Wehrmacht Uniform from the Knuckle Duster Den questline. If you have this disguise you can walk freely through the restricted areas in Gizah, rather than having to sneak around the Nazis.
Stay in this gated area. You’ll find the soldier’s bunk in the other big tent here. Carefully cross the courtyard and enter the opposite tent, then examine the rows of bunks against the wall. You’ll find the note your looking for on a bottom bunk with a yellow helmet. This is the Nazi Note, and it reveals that the location for the stolen goods is at the mid-point between “the cat” and “the queen”, right by the wagon. It also reveals the code to unlock the box, 0926.
Before you leave, open the container on the floor between the two bunks to your left to find the Adventure Book, Brawling – Block Head.
Where To Find The Stolen Goods
If you open your map now you’ll find a fairly large search area for the stolen goods. Luckily, we have all the clues we need to narrow it down. Pohl’s Letter tells us the soldier was arrested along the road to Khentkawes. On the soldier’s bunk, we found a letter that revealed the goods are at the mid-point between “the cat” and “the queen”, or in other words, equidistant from the Sphynx and the Khentkawes tomb.
Leave the Nazi Recreational Area and head south towards the Khentkawes dig site. As you make your way there keep an eye out for a few landmarks. You’ll see a truck parked in the road with a barrier in front of it. You’ll also see a small hill with a makeshift structure covered in red fabric on top of it. The lockbox you’re looking for is just to the side of the row between two palm trees, not far from Omar.
Approach the lockbox and enter the code 0926 – but get ready to run! The stash was a trap, and opening it detonates a pile of dynamite hidden inside. Pohl’s Letter did mention the soldier was smuggling explosives! Opening the lockbox completes the Bright Future questline.
