After stopping the Uzra from crashing into Vence in Fantasian: Neo Dimension, Leo, Kina, and Cheryl are welcomed as the saviors of the port town. Your next step is to find Leo’s second Toy Box, but there are a few things you can do along the way, like tackle side quests for a few people in town.

Fantasian Neo Dimension looks set to be a challenge, especially for those of us entirely new to it.
The Researcher side quest will have you collecting samples from the Mechteria-infested East Vence, which is closed off to normal people. Once you’ve gained access to the other half of the city, you’ll be able to track down the samples. Below, we’ll take a look at where to find every sample for the Researcher side quest.
How To Start The Researcher Quest
To start this side quest, talk to the NPC inside the house to the west of the save crystal in Central Vence. You can see the quest marker on the map if you haven’t already picked up the quest.
Where To Find Every Research Sample In East Vence
Now, you’ll need to collect five samples from certain locations in East Vence. Be careful as you collect each sample, as standing near the Mechteria will slowly drain your health.
The first sample can be found right after entering East Vence, to the left of the fruit seller’s house where you get the gondola.
Continue past the fruit seller’s house and over the bridge, then pick up the second sample from the corner. Head up the back to the second bridge, then cross over it to get the third sample.
Use the gondola to land at the pier just before the save crystal, then find the fourth sample to the right of the save crystal. Interacting with this one will trigger a battle, so make sure your party is ready first.
The final sample can be found at the end of the path, just outside of the entrance to the Midi Toy Box. Collecting this sample will also trigger a battle.
With all five samples collected, return to the researcher to turn them in, earning you an Obsidian, which allows Piercing attacks to pierce through a guarding enemy, and 2,500 gold.
