Fantasian Neo Dimension has a great variety of party members for you to learn, though Ez is undoubtedly one of the most unique. Recruited after a brief bit of unsportsmanlike behaviour in the coliseum, Ez shows immediately that he doesn’t play by the rules.

Fantasian Neo Dimension looks set to be a challenge, especially for those of us entirely new to it.
Unlike every other character, MP is useless for Ez, relying instead on items you gather to use his powerful abilities. There are quite a few to choose from, and knowing what to use and when is one of the most difficult parts of using Ez in the first place.
Ez’s Role In Combat
Prior to getting Ez, you have a pretty standard party. Jack-of-all-trades in Leo, magical offense and defense in Cheryl and Kina, and a tank in Zinikr. Ez is more akin to a machinist, a type of class quite rarely seen due to how unconventional they are.
While Ez has an MP bar, it’s really just for gifting to others. Instead, all of Ez’s skills are performed using crafting materials. This means his usage of abilities is as limitless as your inventory, without having to worry about refilling MP mid-combat.
This also means that Ez is not affected by the Seal status effect.
In exchange for all his utility, it does mean Ez has very little in terms of physical capabilities. He has quite low attack power, not-so-stellar defense, and decent but not incredible HP. His weapon can pierce, but this should more be used as a last-resort tactical attack, rather than relying on his actual strength.
Where Ez does excel is as a support unit. He can provide healing, raise your attack and defense, and even boost your speed. His grenades are quite helpful too, as they always deal a set amount of damage, regardless of how buffed an enemy is, or how much his own attack is lowered.
Ez’s Skills
Because of how Ez operates, he doesn’t unlock any moves that use MP, but new tools to craft instead. While many of his new skills are unlocked through the Growth Map in Act 2, we’ve listed below all of the skills you are guaranteed to unlock by leveling up.

Level 24 |
Shock Grenade |
Throws an area-of-effect grenade that deals a set amount of lightning damage. |
Level 26 |
Quick |
Lets Ez increase a single party member’s speed, increasing the frequenct of their turns. |
Level 28 |
Grenade Damage + |
Increases the set damage that grenades do. |
Level 30 |
The vast majority of these centre around his various bombs and grenades, which let him deal a set amount of damage regardless of his status or level. While this can be helpful in attacking enemies you don’t have other elemental skills to use against, it is mainly useful in how it can attack enemies in a circle, rather than just an arc or line.
However, Ez’s Attack and Guard Up skills are essential, as they basically nullify using boosting items individually, with very little extra cost. Through the Growth Map later, you can even get a Quick All, which is an immensely useful skill.
Ez’s Growth Map
After entering Act 2, the party will be split up until Leo recovers all of them. While you can save them in any order you want, you really should strive to get Ez first, as the skills unlocked through his Growth Map are incredibly powerful, and plenty of them have wholly unique effects as well.
Ez’s Divine Artefact, which unlocks the Growth Map, also gives him the Item Saver passive skill, which gives him a random chance to not use up any items when using his skills.
First and foremost, you should aim to unlock his Jewel Slot +, and Infinite Loop Tension skills. The former is obvious, as being able to equip two skills is just a benefit. His Tension skill is quite unique though, not being an attack skill like it is for most other characters.
Instead, Infinite Loop allows Ez to functionally stop time, letting him take multiple turns in a row before anyone can react. This is immensely powerful for buffing the entire party and setting up powerful moves. Plus, you can even upgrade his skill to give Ez even more turns. It is one of the most powerful Tension skills in the game,
Beyond Infinite Loop, here are some great skills to aim for next:
- Quick All.
- All Potion L.
- Vacuum, which sucks enemies together some piercing moves can hit more enemies even easier.
- Half MP, which lets the user it’s cast on use their abilities for half the MP. Great for Leo’s Samidare skill.
Ez can also unlock Steal through the Growth Map, the only other character to do so. He has plenty more powerful abilities, like Bounce Field, that you should aim for, though the above are some of the best to aim for early on.
