Path of Exile 2 quest order

Each act consists of around half a dozen quests for you to undertake that will take you all over the map. One quest, called ‘The Trail of Corruption’, you’ll see most of the time in the top right of your screen. However, when major events take place, the main quest branches off into several objectives. These will automatically update as you complete the tasks associated with them.

When this happens in Act 2, you should complete ‘A Theft of Ivory’ and ‘The City of Seven Waters’ before continuing on to ‘A Crown of Stone’. The former two contain key shards of a relic used in the ‘Ancient Vows’ side quest, which you’ll complete during ‘A Crown of Stone’. Aside from that, the main story quests are fairly linear.

Side Quest order

For the side quests, you’ll want to prioritize ‘Finding the Force’ in Act 1 to unlock the Salvage Bench. After that, completing ‘Ominous Altars’ for Finn awards you with the spirit necessary to equip persistent buffs. In Act 2, ‘Ascent to Power’ will lead you toward unlocking your Ascendancy, so that’s the most important one to complete, but don’t be afraid to come back to it if you find it too challenging at first.

As of the early access release, there aren’t a lot of traditional side quests in each act where you’re speaking to an NPC and fulfilling some goal for them. In the first act, the side quests are simply obtained from the NPCs in the hub town. Past this point, it becomes a more complicated to find them in Act 2 and beyond.

Path of Exile 2 map order

As you adventure through the three acts available in early access, you’ll stumble across various field bosses and points of interest on the different maps you’ll visit. Seek out the locations that are visible on the map screen, as they usually drop Uncut Gems, items that grant permanent buffs, reveal tidbits of lore, or simply help you complete side quests.

The best way to do so is to visit the various field bosses and points of interest before moving on to the next during the main story quest, as it will take you to all locations in the proper level order. If you do miss a field boss or couldn’t find a specific location, consider returning at a higher level to make searching through dense mobs of enemies easier.

Do note that as of early access, there are some points of interest that don’t seem to trigger, such as the Tinker’s Tools in the Mawdun Quarry, which we couldn’t find. Grinding Gear Games will likely update these and add more in the coming months.

And that’s all the quests currently available in Path of Exile 2 and all the interesting little tidbits to look for among the three maps.
