Clearly, Elbaf’s geography has drawn quite a lot of attention and in One Piece chapter 1132, Oda explained quite a lot of details pertaining to it. Now, it is clear that Elbaf has three different Realms, each having its own name and unique geography.
Elbaf’s Different Levels In One Piece
- Elbaf is heavily inspired by Norse mythology
- Elbaf has three different levels
In One Piece chapter 1132, it was revealed that Elbaf has three distinct levels. The first level of Elbaf is named Underworld. This was already revealed to the fans before One Piece chapter 1132, and it was clear from when Luffy’s visit to Loki as well. When the Straw Hat Pirates woke up in Elbaf, they were in the Underworld, specifically in Road’s Castle. There, Road had made his own diorama as well, and outside of it, fans could see rocky mountains, with incredible amounts of snowfall, and at the same time, little to no sunlight. The existence of civilization is not possible in this part of Elbaf, which is why no one really lives there. Loki, the Prince of Elbaf who was born about 63 years ago, is currently tied up in this part of the country. It makes sense because the Underworld of Elbaf is said to serve as the execution ground, and Loki is trapped there for the crime of killing his own father to consume the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf.

The second level of Elbaf is the Sun Realm or the Sun World. Finally, there is one last level that lies in the clouds, and this level is the Astral World or Heaven World. The topmost level of Elbaf has not had much revealed about it so far. The only thing that fans know is that it exists in the clouds, and likely carries tremendous importance. But, as far as life on Elbaf goes, fans know that it is the Sun World that carries the most significance.
The Geography Of The Sun World Of Elbaf In One Piece
The Sun World Is Where Most Life Flourishes In Elbaf
Elbaf’s Sun World is the second level of the country. It lies several meters above the Underworld, and it is where most life exists. To reach the Sun World, one can take the rope bridge from the Underworld, which will take them quite a lot of time, or, they can ride the Rainbow Bridge, which can be created using a Painter. The Painter can also be referred to as the Sunstone, based on the translation, and it certainly has something to do with the lore surrounding Nika. As to how it works, fans don’t truly know. What matters is that using this bridge, people can cross into the actual inhabitable part of Elbaf, called Elbaf Village. Elbaf Village exists in the Sun Realm and this part of the country gets direct sunlight. There are lush forests, although not as dangerous as the ones in the Underworld, massive waterfalls, animals of tremendous sizes, and of course, so many villages that one truly can’t count them. Among the many villages, there is also the village of Dorry and Brogy, which is where Hajrudin comes from as well.

One Piece: Oda Reveals His Plans After Finishing One Piece
One Piece is in its final saga. Oda has his own plans after finishing the series.
There is also the Elbaf Castle, which is where Loki was born 63 years ago in the world of One Piece. It appears that the royalty of Elbaf also live here, and the pirate crew, called The Giant Warrior Pirates, and along with them, the New Giant Warrior Pirates, also exist in this part of Elbaf. The Sun World is absolutely massive, and everything that truly matters in Elbaf happens in this part of the country.
Don’t overstay your welcome in Elbaf! – Louis Arnot, Explorer
Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates have only just started exploring the Sun World, which means that fans will have to wait quite a bit to fully explore this part of the land. There are likely many secrets housed in the Sun World, and at the same time, there are going to be many powerful individuals living here as well. Naturally, given that this part of Elbaf houses the vast majority of the giant race, this is the strongest realm.
It is also possible for this realm of Elbaf to be somehow connected to the Sun God Nika. Given that this is the only part of Elbaf that gets direct sunlight, Nika might actually have risen from this part of the country. This is also implied through the use of Painters, which is also known as the Sunstone. Perhaps, the Sunstone itself has something to do with Nika as well, and that is certainly very intriguing, to say the least.
The Importance Of The Sun World In Elbaf
The Sun World Carries Major Importance For Luffy
The importance of the Sun World in Elbaf is going to be massive, especially for Luffy. It appears that each level of Elbaf ties directly to a member of the Monster Trio. For instance, the Underworld is tied to Zoro, especially because fans know that Zoro is the King of Hell, and Enma is the ruler of the Underworld. This is a direct connection to the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, and fans will likely see some plot points pertaining to Zoro unfolding in this part of Elbaf. Similarly, the Astral World, or the Heaven World, is directly tied to Sanji. For those who do not remember, Sanji’s mother is named Sora and just as Zoro is connected to the Underworld, Sanji is connected to the skies. The Astral World of Elbaf will likely have something to do with Sanji, because of the direct parallel drawn by Oda there.
Similarly, the middle realm of Elbaf, known as the Sun World, has likely got to do with Luffy. Fans know Luffy to be the Sun God Nika, and the Sun World is likely going to be where the most exciting plot points pertaining to this character are going to unfold.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Oda expanded upon Nika’s lore here, and gave the fans a flashback of sorts, specifically about the Sun God Nika. Fans don’t truly know how the Sun God truly connects to elbaf as a country, and hopefully, Oda will take his time here to explain these things in the Sun World, where Luffy will get tremendous spotlight.
Perhaps, some of the deepest secrets pertaining to the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, and with it, the Sun Realm itself, will be revealed in this part of Elbaf as well. The Sun World might just seem like any other place in the One Piece world, but it’s important is Paramount in the grand scheme of things and fans only need to wait a bit longer before Oda takes a deeper dive into the exciting bits pertaining to it.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1133, is set to be December 8, 2024.
