Marvel Rivals is finally set to fully launch, bringing forth a brand-new hero shooter based around the massive Marvel Comics roster. In Marvel Rivals, fan-favorite heroes and villains go against one another in head-to-head 6v6 matches. While the multiplayer title has featured beta periods, the full-fledged launch of Marvel Rivals is a long time coming, and it gets to close out the year with a bang.
December is a stacked month for launches. In addition to Marvel Rivals, the release of Path of Exile 2 and the three-day early access period for Indiana Jones and the Great Circlemake December 6 a huge day for gaming. What makes Marvel Rivals so exciting, though, is its diverse offering of characters. From household names like Black Widow and Captain America to more deep-cut characters like Jeff the Land Shark and Squirrel Girl, Marvel Rivals promises a fun variety. There are bound to be more additions to the lineup, too, and one iconic Marvel team feels inevitable: The Fantastic Four.

For such a high-profile movie, it would only make sense for Marvel Rivals to take full advantage of such a blockbuster release and add the four-person team to the game’s lineup. Being a live-service game, Marvel Rivals promises ongoing post-launch content, and the inclusion of “Marvel’s first family” leading up to the July release date feels almost certain.

Marvel Rivals Could Keep The Fantastic Four’s Momentum Going
The Fantastic Four has been having a bit of a moment in gaming lately. Back in the fall, Chapter 5 Season 4 of Fortnite was titled Absolute Doom, as it revolved around The Fantastic Four and their nemesis Doctor Doom. Dedicating an entire season of Fortnite to one branch of the Marvel canon is no small feat, and Marvel Rivals now has the chance to continue that momentum.

As of now, developer NetEase Games has yet to confirm any Fantastic Four inclusion, but it would be a huge missed opportunity if the game side-stepped the team. While the wait for The Fantastic Four: First Steps continues, it will be intriguing to see if Marvel Rivals jumps at the chance to promote the movie.
