NPCs Who Should’ve Been Romanceable In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

NPCs Who Should’ve Been Romanceable In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Key Takeaways

  • Gamers can pursue romances with 7 characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, limiting options compared to the previous title.
  • Fans wish other NPCs like Elek, Strife, Rana, Irelin, Tarquin, Illario, Andarateia were romanceable.
  • Some players desire more romance options with intriguing characters like Elek from the crime organization Threads.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a total of seven romances for players to pursue. Unlike Dragon Age: Inquisition, where players were able to not only flirt but also romance non-companion NPCs, players were unable to fall in love with any other characters other than the members of the Veilguard in the latest Dragon Age title.

Although seven may seem like quite a few options for interesting characters, some players still wish that the other NPCs they encountered during their adventure in Dragon Age: The Veilguard were romantically available, too. These are the NPCs that players wish were also romanceable in Veilguard.

8 Elek Tavor

A Quick-Mouthed Thread

  • Member of the Threads.
  • Met for the first time during Neve’s outing.

Elek is a member of the crime organization that makes their home in Dock Town. The players first meet him while completing various outings and quests with Neve, though some gamers wish that they could spend more time with this high-ranking member of the Threads alone.

Even as part of an organization that may be considered unlawful, the Threads want nothing else but to get their territory back from the Venatori, and Elek is one of those members that wants to see his group’s power return. When interacting with Elek, the player may feel as if this character is somewhat flirting with them, but Rook can never flirt back. However, this could be for the best, as Elek may simply be scamming the player’s heart.

7 Strife

There Needed To Be More Old Men To Romance

  • One of the leaders of the Veil Jumpers.
  • Players meet Strife for the first time when entering the Arlathan Forest.

Out of the seven companions, Emmrich is the only older character option for players to romance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Besides this romance, there is another older gentleman on the market for love, and that is the Veil Jumper Strife, but players themselves are unable to pursue him.

If Emmrich is allowed to get into a relationship with Strife, then the player should also be allowed to win over this Veil Jumper’s heart. Besides his extraordinary voice, Strife is shown throughout the game to be able to hold his own, and he could also being an intriguing option for anyone who has read Tevinter Nights or The Missing.

6 Rana Savas

The Templar With A Solid Code

Rana Savas in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

  • A member of the Tevinter Templar Order.
  • Rana is first met during the first Minrathous main quest.

Alongside Elek in Dock Town, another NPC who some players wish they could’ve gotten to know more intimately is Rana Savas. She is another character that players will meet alongside Neve, though a lot sooner than Elek, due to meeting Rana for the first time while doing the first main quest on the streets of Dock Town.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard – Worst Rogue Skills That Are Not Worth Using

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a plethora of skills and upgrades, yet for the Rogues out there, here are the skills they are going to want to avoid.

Rana is very similar to Neve in her motivations for protecting Dock Town and is one of the non-corrupt members of the Templar order in Tevinter. Many players yearn to learn more about Rana and wish they could’ve explored her character more through her own quests, which could have led to romance.

5 Irelin

A Veil Jumper With A Lot Of Potential

Irelin from Dragon Age: The Veilguard

  • A Shapeshifter mage of the Veil Jumpers.
  • Irelin is met alongside Strife when the player first enters the Arlathan Forest after the prologue.

Strife isn’t the only leader of the Veil Jumpers who players wish they could’ve flirted with and potentially romanced, as Irelin is another character from the Dragon Age franchise books that makes an appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

She is shown to be incredibly caring for the character Bellara, with a potential past romance between them being somewhat mentioned, though that doesn’t mean Irelin is off the board of a potential fling or even something serious. From the few moments she appears in Veilguard, some players wish they could’ve had more and would have liked to get to know her away from the Veil Jumpers.

4 Tarquin

Just A Regular Member Of The Shadow Dragons

Tarquin in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

  • A Templar who is also a Shadow Dragon.
  • Players meet Tarquin for the first time when they visit Dock Town with Neve.

Returning to Minrathous, another NPC who players truly wished was a romance option for them was the character of Tarquin. Both him and the Viper are the main contacts that the player talks to while interacting with the Shadow Dragons in Veilguard, and although Tarquin – or the Viper – didn’t appear in any past Dragon Age content, they have managed to secure themselves in the heart of many players.

Tarquin doesn’t have any magic, which makes him quite the regular guy within the Shadow Dragons, as well as also being a member of the Templars, though many forget he even exists. This interesting backstory has so much potential for Tarquin not only as a friend to the player, but perhaps even a romantic partner. If he was available romantically, players could perhaps explore ways of making Tarquin feel like a somebody, especially to Rook.

3 Illario Dellamorte

The More Flirtatious Member Of The Dellamorte Family

Illario in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

  • A skilled Antivan Crow with a dark secret.
  • Illario is met for the first time when entering Treviso during the main story.

There are plenty of handsome and beautiful Antivan Crows that players have fallen in love with throughout their adventure across not only the Dragon Age games but also the other media created by the writers of the franchise.

Those looking to use the best healing methods in Dragon Age: The Veilguard should highly consider gaining access to these Companion Skills.

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there are multiple NPC candidates that would’ve made great romance options, with the flirt of the Dellamorte family being a perfect example. Ignoring Illario’s connection to the story of Veilguard, Illario has always been seen as the charmer, with many players enjoying his appearance and wishing they could’ve fallen in love with this cousin instead of Lucanis. Even with the story in Veilguard, this would’ve made an interesting romance.

2 Solas

Falling In Love With The Man In The Player’s Head

  • The Dread Wolf who is stuck in the player’s head.
  • Solas is met for the first time during the prologue of Veilguard.

There is a complexity to Solas being a romance option in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Firstly, Solas was already a romance option for players in Dragon Age: Inquisition, with this romance playing a unique role in Veilguard for those that chose to fall in love with him. Secondly, Solas is stuck in the player’s head for the majority of the game, which makes falling in love with him a little difficult.

However, even with these things going on in a player’s head, those that choose not to romance Solas in Inquisition could potentially see their Rook becoming an accomplice to Solas’ plans while also falling in love with him in Veilguard.

1 Andarateia Cantori

Some Players Wish To Be Trapped In Her Talons

Teia from Dragon Age: The Veilguard

  • The seventh Talon of the Antivan Crows.
  • First met when visiting Treviso to find Lucanis during the main quest.

The hot Crows continue with Teia being another NPC who players would do anything to have a romance with. She even appears to flirt with Rook when they bring Lucanis back, though this is only used to reveal Lucanis’ interest in the player. It’s a shame that Rook isn’t allowed to flirt back at Teia, who showed a lot of potential throughout the game.

Even though Teia is shown throughout the books and comics to have a somewhat on and off relationship with Viago, many players are certain that this wouldn’t get in the way of at least having a small fling with Teia in between the chaotic events that transpire in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
