Indiana Jones and the Great Circle A Game of Wits puzzle solution
The code for the A Game of Wits Mak-Yek safe is 3186. You can use this straight away if you’d rather not know how it was done, but if you are curious, here is the complete puzzle solution.
As the instructions in the quest’s notes explain, you can capture the red coins by flanking them with two of your blue ones, or by inserting a blue one between two red ones. The latter of those two rules isn’t explained to you initially, with you needing to rotate the rules note around to see it on the back of the page.
To complete the puzzle, you need to move four blue coins just once to remove all red coins, and then record the positions of the coins you moved. The first thing you need to know is that the numbers you need to record for the safe code are the ones the blue coins you move end on, not where they start.
There is also only one order for the coins to be moved for you to be able to capture all red ones. That order is:
- F1 to F3
- H1 to D1
- B1 to B8
- F8 to F6
Since you cannot interact with the Mak-Yek board, you have to memorize the movements you make and imagine what the board will look like with all the moves completed.
Mak-Yak puzzle safe code solution
If you follow the order above, you will work out that the Mak-Yak puzzle safe code is 3186. Once it pops open you’ll be able to grab the money inside. You’ll be given more than $200 for completing the puzzle, so it’s certainly worth completing.
