If you’re new to Marvel Rivals and unsure which hero to pick as a Duelist, we recommend choosing Squirrel Girl. She’s a beginner-friendly character, fun to play, and undeniably adorable. This guide will help you better understand her playstyle and provide tips for maximizing her effectiveness.
Squirrel Girl Overview
From the first look at Squirrel Girl‘s kit, it’s clear that it’s straightforward and easy to use in combat as a Duelist.
She doesn’t require precise aiming, as her weapon fires bouncing explosives, meaning you’ll likely be damaging enemies consistently. This means that she’s particularly effective in close-quarter maps and excels at dealing damage to groups of enemies.
She’s a great choice for beginners, especially if you want to engage enemies from a safe distance.
The table below demonstrates all the available abilities for her.

Burst Acorn |

Tips And Tricks To Play Squirrel Girl
Take the high ground and spam shoot the door where you expect the enemy to appear. This will force them to take a different path, allowing your teammates to handle them. Since her weapon deals explosive damage to anyone nearby, always aim for enemy players in close proximity.
Squirrel Girl doesn’t excel in 1v1 situations unless you’re very familiar with her kit, so always try to stay within range of a teammate or a Strategist. But let’s be honest, it is bound to happen.
So, if you’re being targeted and find yourself in a 1v1 situation, start by using Squirrel Blockade to trap the enemy, then hit them with your weapon, or use Tail Bounce to create distance if you’re low on health.
When things go south, always use Tail Bounce to reach a high-ground platform where you can distract the enemy or seek a health pack. But this might not always work if you are against other mobile Dueslists.
The most important ability in her kit is Mamma Bond, and you should know when to use it. It will most likely be on Tail Bounce, her only escape ability, so it’s better to save it for this if you’re being attacked.
Alternatively, if you’re shooting enemies from a safe distance, you can use it on an additional Squirrel Blockade to trap an enemy your teammate is struggling with.
Finally, her ultimate ability should be saved for when three to four enemy players are together to maximize its effectiveness since it can damage all of themthem at once. While it’s not the strongest, it pairs well with other Strategist abilities that can boost your damage.
Essentially, with Squirrel Girl, stay at a safe distance, keep shooting at entrances where enemies might enter, and avoid getting too close unless you have another Duelist and a Strategist with you.
