If you’re looking to dust off your puzzle-solving skills with a quick brain-teaser in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, there’s an early opportunity to do so as soon as you start exploring Vatican City. Inside the Apostolic Palace is a replica of St. Peter’s Square, which is actually a puzzle box containing some treasures to get you started on your adventure.

There have been a lot more Indiana Jones games than Lucasarts fans remember.
The game doesn’t offer any clues on how the puzzle box works – you’re meant to figure it out through trial and error. If you need a hint, or just want to get to the Adventure Book inside, read on.
Where To Find The House Of God Puzzle Box
The puzzle box is in the Apostolic Palace, which is across the Belvedere Courtyard from the Library, on the south side. The easiest way to get to the puzzle box is to climb the scaffolds behind the large propaganda poster.
Halfway up you’ll find yourself on a balcony with a single guard; push him over the edge, then continue climbing the scaffolding to the left until you can enter an open window. The House Of God puzzle box will be directly in front of you once you’re inside.
If you sneak into the Palace from another entrance – usually the dig site or the Borgia Courtyards – simply make your way upstairs. The room with the puzzle box is off the landing just before the top floor, on the north side of the building.
Read the note on top of the puzzle box to start the Mystery.

How To Open The House Of God Puzzle Box
The puzzle box is operated by moving the lever on the front panel left and right. Start by moving it all the way to the right, until you hear something pop open on the left side of the box.
A panel on the left side of the box should have opened; take the medallion inside. Next, return to the lever and move it all the way to the left. This will close the first panel and open a new panel on the right side of the box.
Place the medallion in the socket on the right side of the puzzle box. After you hear a mechanism click, move the lever all the way to the right again to re-open the left panel. A new compartment will have opened inside, revealing a chalice.
Place the chalice on the puzzle box, in front of the replica of the Basilica. This will open a drawer, giving you a book detailing the locations of the Ancient Relics hidden throughout the Vatican. It will be useful for completing your collection – they belong in a museum, after all. They’ll appear as icons on your map if you have Riddles Of The Ancients as your active quest.
You’ll also get 100 Adventure Points to spend on new Skills.
