Why Does Indiana Jones Hate Snakes?
Ophidiophobia is pretty common. Here’s why Indy Hates those slithering snakes.
Once you make it to the second main open area in the new game, you’ll need the lighter to complete some of the mainline quest objectives. Some of the tunnels are too dark and you’re not going to find a lit torch in the desert. That’s why you need to find the lighter as soon as possible.
How To Get The Lighter
Once you first arrive in Gizeh and meet Nawal, she asks you to head out into the blazing Egyptian heat to find four stone Stele, while helping her in the mystery of the Great Circle. We won’t want to spoil what happens once you’ve found them all.
Finding the four Stele is now your main objective, so you can head to four locations that are indicated on your map. However, you’ll run into issues at three of those locations.
They are tunnels underneath the surface in Gizeh, and therefore dark and sometimes filled with scorpions. You need to light the way to see where the Stele are.
To get the Lighter, head to the town area north of where you started in Gizeh, where the objective marker is. There, you’ll meet Asmaa, who’ll give the Lighter to you for a small fee. If you want them, she’ll also sell some books to you which show the location of all Books in the region, as well as where to start all Mysteries.
Be sure to take a picture of Asmaa for some quick Adventure Points.
How To Use The Lighter
Once you have the Lighter, you can head back to the locations of the Stele. There, you’ll need to equip the Lighter by pressing up on the d-pad. It will light automatically, but you can light more of the space around you by holding the left trigger on your controller.
Then, with it lit, you can wave it near candles, bowls of fuel, or torches to light them with the Lighter, allowing you to see in dark spaces without having to equip the item at all times.
You can burn away red posters you spot throughout the game by using the Lighter. You get 50 Adventure Points for each one you light.
