From deadly expeditions to dangerous traps, Indiana Jones has influenced more video games than you can fit in a museum.

Towards the end of the Vatican section in the game, you’ll need to complete two trials to get two keys, one of which being the Gold Path Trial. The puzzle that it involves is tricky, requiring you to figure out how to open a door by moving some towers around a chamber. After being pointed in the right direction, it’s not too difficult.

Once you enter the gold trial chamber, you’ll see a lever at the far end. You can walk to it, but interacting with it won’t do anything as the door remains locked until you solve the puzzle.

You can walk over any part of the arena that’s not actively on fire. Steam and sparks won’t hurt you, so don’t worry about that.

From the lever, head left and go behind the bars where you’ll find some chains you can pull. Pull those chains until the towers that move in the main chamber go over the fire sections and light up brightly.

How To Move Hidden Chains

A whip grapple point above a gate in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Once you’ve done those two towers, head back to the entrance of the trial, and you’ll spot a whip grapple point just by the side of the main area. Whip up to that and climb onto the nearest tower, which you previously lit.

Indy will then ask Gina for help moving the tower to where you need it to be to continue climbing. That’ll allow you to whip onto another grapple point and pull yourself up into a broken entrance way above the other side of the clamber.

A hole in the floor in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Drop down into there through the hole and you’ll be behind the bars you previously couldn’t reach due to a locked door. Pull the chains in there too to light up the floor beneath them, then head back to the other side after opening the door with the chain.

You’ll need to head back to the chains you moved first to move the tower Gina moved back to where it needs to be.

With all towers now lit, you’ll be able to open the main door using the lever. In the next chamber, pull the chain to rotate the statues and activate the forge.

After leaving that room, you can then use your whip pull ability to solidify the metal and grab the key to open the door that ends both trials. You can either put the key in the door now or wait until you’ve completed both of the trials.
