How To Beat Guardian Giant Boss In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle

The combat isn’t the easiest part of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. At multiple points throughout the story, you need to fight massive bosses that are much harder to knock down than the Nazis you’ll find in the open areas of the game.

From deadly expeditions to dangerous traps, Indiana Jones has influenced more video games than you can fit in a museum.

During the story, you’ll need to fight the Guardian Giant in Gizeh, and it’s one of the toughest fights in the game. Rather than just swinging wildly at the big guy, you need to be a bit more considered about how you attack. There are also some things you should do before you even begin approaching him.

How To Light The Room

A pressure plate in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The main gimmick of the fight is the lack of light in the arena. You need to creep around quietly to try and avoid the Guardian Giant’s attacks. The first thing you need to do is locate the pillar in the centre of the room, which you interacted with previously, and get your bearings.

Around the arena, there are three pressure plates – one on each side of the room and one up some stairs opposite the pillar. Try and crouch walk over to them to light them by standing on them. That’ll then make the fight a lot easier than it would otherwise be.

How To Beat Guardian Giant

A skeleton and a metal pole on the floor in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Now, with the room lit, you’ll be able to fight the giant properly. Either let him approach you or go after him, being sure to stay in the bright areas as much as you can.

You need to focus on parrying with LB, countering his attacks whenever you can. Also, pick up the metal poles on the ground around you and use those for extra damage against the big guy.

Like in any fight in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, do not punch more than twice in succession, as you’ll be hit in return. Attack a maximum of two times before backing off and waiting for another opportunity.

Once you’ve beaten the Guardian Giant, you can pick up the medallion from his body and put it into the pillar to progress to the next part of the story.
