GTA 6 Fans Are Losing Hope For A Second Trailer

GTA 6 Fans Are Losing Hope For A Second Trailer

Key Takeaways

  • Time flies when you’re having fun, except in this case, Grand Theft Auto fans are almost certainly not having any fun.
  • That’s because an entire year has come and gone since the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, and to no one’s surprise, a new trailer has not debuted.
  • Fans are quickly losing hope, despite Take-Two affirming that the game will indeed release in Fall 2025.

One year ago, Rockstar Games broke the Internet dam open when it debuted the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, the long (and we mean long) awaited next entry in the GTA franchise.

One year later, and, well, that trailer is all we still have to go off of. With 27 days remaining in 2024, Rockstar has less than a month to drop “Trailer No. 2,” and with the one-year anniversary seemingly coming and going without a peep, things are getting desperate in GTA fandom.

Over the last several months, fans have been starved for more information, gleaning whatever they can in hopes of learning more about the upcoming title. For example, there was a group of fans who noticed that the necklace that Lucia is wearing in the trailer became available for purchase in Grand Theft Auto 5’s GTA Online.

Then, there were the fans that were using the moon’s phases (yes, you read that right) to try and pinpoint when exactly the next trailer would debut. All the while, Take-Two, the holding company of Rockstar, has continually affirmed its plans to release the game at some point during Fall 2025.

We’re Losing Hope Here

Still, the words of Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick can only go so far. And with Thursday being the official one-year anniversary, fans took to Reddit to lament the lack of a second trailer and their dwindling hopes of a new look before 2024 comes to a close.

“We are closer to playing the game than we are to Trailer 1,” one fan wrote, opting to look at the bright side. Indeed, if all goes to plan, by this time next year, we’ll all be playing the next GTA and not charting the moon’s phases.

“What did we do to deserve this,” another user wrote, with another pointing to the infamous leak of not only an early build of the game itself, as well as the trailer as reasons why fans have nothing to look at.

”I give up. John Rockstar will announce when they want to,” another user succinctly wrote.

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that an entire second year will pass without another trailer, but this is Rockstar and Take-Two we’re talking about here. The studio and publisher do not play by the conventional rules, even going as far as to suggest that GTA 6 won’t be at a traditional $59.99 or $69.99 pricepoint.

The song used in the trailer, Tom Petty’s “Love Is A Long Road,” makes numerous mentions of love indeed being a long road. And unfortunately or fortunately, Rockstar is following those lyrics to a T. And we’re all along for the ride for it.
