Counter-Strike 2 has become the latest game confirmed to make a return for the 2025 edition of the Esports World Cup, after making its debut at the event earlier this year. The CS2 2024 Esports World Cup was won by NAVI, claiming one of their most significant event victories of the year.
CS2 Esports World Cup 2025 Details
CS2 becomes the latest esport to return to the EWC in 2025, following in the recent footsteps of Rainbow Six Siege and Call of Duty. Returning to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the event will run between 20th – 24th August, 2025, jamming into the already hectic 2025 CS2 calendar. Currently, it does not directly conflict with any existing events, although it does end one day before BLAST Open London 2025 is set to begin.
This time around, the prize pool has been upped to $1.25 million, up considerably from the $1 million last time around. It will feature 16 teams, all of whom will be directly invited via the Valve Regional Standings. Prize pool distribution is as follows:
- 1st Place: $500,000
- 2nd Place: $230,000
- 3rd-4th Place: $100,000 each
- 5th-8th Place: $40,000 each
- 9th-16th Place: $20,000 each
Each day, more games are being announced for the 2025 edition of the Esports World Cup. Last year, there was over $60 million on the line across all esports, so let’s see what it has in store this time around.
