Another stage in need of rodent extermination has arrived, and this one could be one of the most troublesome yet. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is about to get a free update, introducing a new map full of Skaven. This one’s an Elven temple, so expect plenty of secrets.
This may come as a surprise if you’re a dedicated player of Warhammer: Vermintide 2, because the action game‘s roadmap was essentially completed in April 2024. However, when a Versus PvP mode attracted hundreds of thousands of players to the Warhammer game, developer Fatshark decided to reopen support.
That means more new features to keep the rat population down across the realm. A meaty update is coming on December 9, 2024, bringing The Forsaken Temple to the fantasy game.
Alongside the level is the first of three new campaign missions, so beware that you’re stepping into a whole chapter of Vermintide horror. Previously additions came with a blend of fresh bits and pieces alongside ports from the first Vermintide. This is all new gameplay, putting everyone on the same, rodent-addled foot.
Besides scurrying through the Elven temple, there’s a selection of cosmetic for various heroes, including skins and hats. You’ve got to look the part when flaming out Skaven.
Vermintide 2’s popularity has come in tandem with the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the long-awaited sequel to the smash hit action-adventure game. Whether you like fantasy or 40K, it’s a good time to be a Warhammer fan, that’s for sure.
