6 Lingering Questions We Have After The End Of The Jujutsu Kaisen Manga
Now that Jujutsu Kaisen has finally ended, we’ve still got a few questions.
Divided into ten arcs, Jujutsu Kaisen is packed with high-octane fights and intriguing character narratives. Although the central protagonist is Itadori Yuuji, the story quickly opens to include the perspectives of other characters like Fushiguro Megumi and Gojo Satoru. From defying execution orders to taking part in a battle royale, these are every one of Jutsu Kaisen’s story arcs, ranked them from worst to best.
11 Death Painting Arc
The last arc covered in Season One, the Death Painting Arc sees Megumi, Nobara and Yuji handle the Death Paintings Mahito stole during the Kyoto Goodwill Event. They were initially called due to a string of murders which led the trio to Yasohachi Bridge, the same bridge Megumi’s sister Tsumiki visited before she fell into a coma.
The following events see Death Paintings Eso and Kechizu join the fray, while Megumi battles a Finger Bearer. Megumi manages to throw away his reservations and believe in his abilities, summoning an incomplete Domain Expansion for the first time. Meanwhile, Yuji and Nobara work in tandem to defeat the Death Paintings, showcasing the marked improvements in their skills.
10 Fearsome Womb Arc
The beginning of everything, the Fearsome Womb Arc introduces you to the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. We see Itadori Yuji become Sukuna’s vessel and meet Gojo Satoru, who halts his execution. We also meet Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara and get a crash course on curses, cursed energy, tools and exorcisms.
Itadori Yuji and his fellow budding sorcerers are thrown into a mission in a detention centre, only to face a Special Grade curse that’d swallowed Sukuna’s finger. Sukuna ends up taking over and killing Itadori but forces him to agree to a deal in exchange for Itadori’s life – a deal that would spell doom in the future.
9 Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc
The Kyoto Goodwill Event sees the students of the Tokyo and Kyoto branches face off in a somewhat friendly competition to showcase their prowess. Itadori Yuji – thus far still pretending to be dead – makes his grand return to the land of the living, which results in the Kyoto students going out for Yuji’s blood (minus Todo).
More spine-tingling battles are to come when Special Grade curse Hanami and a few curse users attack the students. However, it was all a ruse for Mahito to steal Sukuna’s Fingers and the Death Paintings. We get spoiled with amazing battles in this arc, such as Todo and Yuji’s fight against Hanami, as well as a show of Gojo’s Hollow Purple.
8 Itadori’s Extermination Arc
With Gojo Satoru sealed away, Yuji loses all protection against the higher-ups, who quickly resume his execution order. They send Special Grade sorcerer Okkotsu Yuuta to do the deed, only for Zenin Naoya to join, the latter setting out with his own murderous agenda after discovering Megumi had been chosen as clan head instead.

Jujutsu Kaisen: 11 Best Female Characters
Here are the best female characters in Jujutsu Kaisen!
Accompanied by Choso (who allies with Yuji after realising they’re brothers), Yuji battles Yuta while Choso goes to fend off Naoya. In the end, Yuta pretends to kill Yuji, only to heal him later. Choso manages to defeat Naoya, and Yuta uses the opportunity to force Naoya to confirm that Yuji is dead to the higher-ups. Megumi shows up not long after, asking for Yuji’s help to save Tsumiki, who’s participating in the Culling Game.
7 V. Mahito Arc
This arc is both tense and tragic in equal measure. Believed dead by jujutsu society, Itadori Yuji tags along with Nanami Kento to investigate a series of gruesome transfigured humans. They’re hot on the heels of Mahito, a Special Grade curse who has bullied high schooler Yoshino Junpei in his grasp.
Although Yuji was able to befriend Junpei, it was not enough to stop Mahito’s (and Fake Geto’s) plans. Junpei was betrayed and ended up transfigured along with the rest of Mahito’s victims. Itadori and Nanami battle Mahito, though it was Sukuna who injured him in the end, leaving the battle in a stalemate.
6 Gojo’s Past Arc
Season Two opens up with a look into Gojo’s past as a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. A young Gojo and Geto are charged with escorting the Star Plasma Vessel, Riko Amanai, due to their reputation as Special Grades and the strongest sorcerers of their generation.
The two sorcerers face their greatest challenge in Fushiguro Toji, a contract killer with zero cursed energy. Toji was able to kill Gojo and defeat Geto. Gojo learned Reverse Cursed Technique in time to revive himself and kill Toji, but the events in this arc caused changes in Gojo and Geto, with major consequences down the line.
5 Cursed Child Arc
The prequel to the events of the original show, this arc focuses on Okkotsu Yuuta, a petrified teen with barely a handle on Rika, his late childhood friend who’d incarnated into a Special Grade curse. Taken in by Gojo, Yuuta quickly gains the attention of curse user Geto Suguru, who desires to absorb Rika into his arsenal of curses.
Geto declares war on Jujutsu High, unleashing a thousand curses on Shinjuku and Tokyo. While the sorcerers are preoccupied with the latter, Geto secretly returns to Tokyo Jujutsu High to get to Yuuta. In a mesmerising battle sequence, Yuuta and Rika manage to soundly defeat Geto, leaving Gojo to execute his former friend.
4 Perfect Preparation Arc
The chaos following Gojo’s sealing continues to unfold in this arc. Pariahs of the jujutsu world, Megumi, Yuji and their allies infiltrate Tokyo Jujutsu High to speak to Master Tengen to obtain more information. Yaga’s death is another sore spot in this arc, as he holds on to his principles right to the end.
Megumi and Yuji then reach out to the third-year jujutsu students to ask for their help in the Culling Game. However, the true highlight of this arc is Maki’s extermination of the Zenin clan, killing them all as revenge for Mai’s death.
3 Shibuya Incident Arc
The Shibuya Incident is the culmination of Fake Geto’s plans and starts with the death of Jujutsu High’s mole, Kokichi Muta. A week later, on October 31st, Fake Geto and his band of Special Grade curses and curse users launched their plan. What follows is a string of defeats on jujutsu society’s part, escalating to Geto’s reveal as Kenjaku and Gojo Satoru’s sealing in the Prison Realm.
From Dagon’s defeat, Toji’s revival, Nanami’s death, Jogo’s end at Sukuna’s hands and Mahoraga’s summoning, it ultimately ended as a loss for jujutsu society. With Gojo Satoru sealed away, the floodgates of hell had opened for his students and their allies.
2 Culling Game Arc
Things quickly ramp up more than they already have in the Culling Game Arc, where sorcerers fight to the death to be top dog. Megumi, Yuji, Yuta, Maki and more wrestle with the powerful sorcerers that lie in wait. They attempt to gather enough points to free Tsumiki, not realising that an impostor has overtaken her body.
Although Gojo was eventually unsealed, Sukuna used the deal he made with Yuji all the way back in the first arc to leap into Megumi’s body to use his Ten Shadows technique.
1 Shinjuku Showdown Arc
The final arc and the showdown you’ve all been waiting for, Gojo sets out to kill Kenjaku and Sukuna. What follows is a seemingly never-ending series of battles, but starts with Gojo first fighting Sukuna. In a scene that shocks the world, Gojo is defeated by the King of Curses.
However, Sukuna continues to fight against Hajime Kashimo and hasn’t fully recovered from his fight against Gojo, allowing Yuji to separate Sukuna from Megumi’s body and defeat him. Kenjaku is killed as well, thanks to the efforts of Fumihiko Takaba and Okkotsu Yuuta, bringing an end to the ancient curse user’s diabolical schemes.
