EA is urgently investigating issues with all platform versions of Madden NFL 25 after reports from fans confirmed they were experiencing issues with Ability Buckets, Chemistries, and Secondary Positions. Madden NFL 25 is the latest entry in EA’s long-running football franchise, which has become the go-to game for gridiron fans.

Since the game’s release in August 2024, Madden NFL 25 has seen regular updates, with the most recent being at the end of November. This patch brought a lot of fixes to certain plays, along with adding a new Saquon Spin Hurdle. This new backward hurdle can only be executed when the Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley has the ball. Now it seems players are encountering severe issues with the game.

The outage is affecting PC, PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game. In the post, the team stated, “We have confirmed there is a visual issue and any currently equipped Abilities, Chemistries, and Secondary Positions are unaffected.” As a result of these issues, the developers have taken all Madden NFL 25 servers offline while they urgently investigate the issues. During this period of downtime, players will not be able to access any online mode and Solo Battles and Team Builder will be gated. Developers Investigating Madden NFL 25 Issues

The news comes as Madden NFL 25 is set to be part of the next PlayStation esports tournament set to take place from December 6 to December 8. This leaves some players hoping that the outage will be addressed quickly as this tournament is set to offer exclusive in-game items.

Despite the issues facing players, the Madden franchise hit a major milestone in August when it secured a first-place debut for the 25th consecutive year. The popularity of the American Football game continued to show as Madden NFL 25 was a hit for gamers during Black Friday. PlayStation and Xbox digital stores offered significant discounts on EA’s tentpole sports game with prices dropping as low as $35.

Still, there is no doubt that the team at EA is working hard to fix the issues with Madden NFL 25 and get the game back online as quickly as possible. At the time of writing, there is no indication of when this might be, but in the meantime, players can still head to the gridiron using the offline modes on offer.
