As part of a Story quest, you’ll be tasked with finding and damaging demons. Thankfully, they’re found at several points on the map and are surrounded by decent weapons and consumables that can amp up your loadout. Moreover, defeating some of them grants you powerful items (and XP) to aid your survival.

How To Find Demons

Speaking to Kendo in Fortnite.

Think of Demons as smaller versions of the mightier “evil” characters in the game. They’re scattered across the map, and their locations will be highlighted the moment you hover over Kendo’s quest that asks you to damage demons. Some of them will have familiar movesets and character designs.

Start by first speaking to Kendo about the demons. This will give you some information about the ongoing story and what you can expect. Next, open the map, and you’ll notice the locations of the demons are marked for you:

  • Northeast of Shining Span
  • Northeast of Hopeful Heights
  • Flooded Frogs
  • Shogun’s Solitude
  • South of Masked Meadows
  • Magic Mosses
  • Loot Lake

If you’re looking for the safest way of finding and eliminating demons, try landing at the farthest location from the Battle Bus when the match starts. That way, it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter a lot of other players, giving you enough time to loot before you head into battle.

Sometimes, the demons won’t spawn at the mentioned locations. Move to another one if you have the time for it.

How To Damage Demons

Once you approach a demon, you’ll see an exclamation mark above their head which warns you about upcoming attacks.

It’s important to note that
bosses also count as demons
. For instance,
defeating the Shogun X boss
will count as fighting a demon, giving you the necessary damage output to complete the quest.

We highly recommend you use weapons like the Typhoon Blade and Fire Oni Mask to blend close and long-range attacks. Relying on only one type of weapon won’t work very well, as demons can be quite unpredictable in their movement. It’s also useful to carry healing items such as the Water Sprite to have a helping hand during the battle.

Also, make sure that you enter the fight before or after eliminating opponents around you. Otherwise, another player may take advantage of the opportunity and eliminate you and the demon to gain the rewards. Upon defeating demons, you can acquire over 25,000 XP, which can help you level up faster. Maybe making it a habit to eliminate Demons every match isn’t a bad idea, huh?

It’s usually safe to loot the area first, gather some loot, and then trigger the fight.
