When Fortnite OG returns this Friday, it will be a return to the earliest days of the game. The Battle Royale mode has been around since 2017, though it’s not the first mode Fortnite had. Since then, it has evolved, with a few points of the evolution adding major changes.
These include movement changes and Zero Build mode, both of which will be part of the new, permanent OG mode. However, some even newer movement mechanics are going to be restricted just to Chapter 6 and not the new side mode.
New Movement Won’t Be in Fortnite OG
According to ShiinaBR, Fortnite OG won’t be exactly the same as it once was. The old graphics, loot, map, and more are coming back. However, they’ll be back in conjunction with some movement mechanics that have been added since.
Tactical Sprinting, Mantling, Door Bashing, and Sliding were all added in Chapter 3, but they’ll be present in OG. They were the first time it was brought back last year for a month-long season, and you’ll be able to bash doors in Greasy Grove, slide in Lonely Lodge, and mantle in Haunted Hills once again.
The Chapter 6 update brought in a few other movement mechanics along with some other items: Ledge Jump, Roll Landing, Wall Kick, and Wall Scramble. These have been a hit so far in Chapter 6, but they’re not going to be present in OG. They’re a little too complicated for the simplicity of OG.
This is a leak, just like a recent Spider-Man Noir leak. However, it’s a pretty reliable one. OG brought back those movement mechanics that weren’t present in the actual first chapter of the game, so it stands to reason that they’d do it again.
Adding a wall jump and other mechanics would move it further away from the true spirit of the game mode, so Epic Games likely will not bother. With that said, until the mode officially drops, this information is speculative.
