The Esports World Cup (EWC) is coming back in 2025. Following its successful completion in 2024, the event will again showcase several esports titles and the top teams worldwide. After rebranding from the Gamers8 event, this will be the event’s second edition. Ahead of the event, Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 announces an update in the Joint Ventures and Club Championship regulation that will be revealed soon.

The grand event will kick off in June 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will feature multiple esports titles and a mega prize pool. The event is hosted by the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) and ESL FACEIT Group.

The Esports World Cup (EWC) is changing the partnership rule in the second edition of the event to give the teams free will to join together. The tournament revealed little of the upcoming update. It said that joint ventures would not receive collective Club Championship points.

But if the teams are aware that they do not want to merge their points, then the teams can join together if the particular title permits them to do so. If the clubs want their game rosters to contribute points to the club championship, the clubs will need to have an aligned club name throughout all games and the championship.

However, if the publisher of any particular game wants an exemption, the EWCF will do so. But remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg. More details on the exact regulations will follow in Q1 2025.

Team Falcons won the club championship award in 2025

The EWC Club Championship is for ranking the participant clubs in the event. There are several criteria to fulfill to be considered as one of the club championship teams. It simply announces the best esports team in the world with an astonishing prize pool.

Among the requirements to be counted as one of the clubs, a team must have to win at least one event. Participation requirement requires a club to reach the top eight spot in at least two competitions. And, each event featured in the EWC has the same amount of point distribution. In the previous edition, Team Falcons won the best team award with 5665 points. The team was the winner of two competitions: Warzone and Free Fire.

The EWC 2024 featured 21 titles that included top-tier competitive titles. As the next edition is here, almost, we will have to wait for a few months to know the selected titles in the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025.
