Enigma of Fear has plenty of puzzles and secrets to keep players occupied for hours. You play the role of Mia, a Paranormal Order member searching for his missing father and director of the organization, Mr. Verity.




The Underground is the second region you’ll explore in the game, and while it’s not as heavy on the puzzles as the Strach Mansion you just came from, there is still plenty to miss if you’re not careful. Here’s a complete walkthrough covering everything you’ll need to know to get past the Underground section in Enigma of Fear.

Starting the Chapter

After defeating Callisto, you’ll see Verity lying unconscious on the floor while a mysterious character opens a secret door in the room. Once the cutscene ends, you’ll see Verity tied up with chains in a semi-dark room resembling a church. Interacting with the chains doesn’t do anything, so hit escape to return to the main menu.


Click Begin and click on the bloodstained sigils to return to Mia’s Story in Enigma of Fear. You’ll start right where you left off in the same room where the boss battle went down. Think back to where the mysterious figure came from. Head to the wall and hit it with your Crowbar to reveal a hidden door. Mia will be surprised by how she knows about it. Head through the door to reach the Underground.

Exploring Underground

The Underground is a small area that serves as your main base of operations. This region connects to other levels of the game, and you can open shortcuts later on from the regions to reach here directly.

After reaching the Underground, head through the door on your left. Take a right, and you’ll arrive at a corridor with two doors, one leading forward and one on the left. Take the left door first to reach the Infirmary. There’ll be two Blood Zombies that you’ll have to kill here. Once you take care of them, inspect the Perimeter Medical Report on the desk.

Go back to the Corridor and take the other door to reach the central area of the Underground. Use the Radio to call Samuel and Agatha. The next time you return to the area, your team will move in and turn it into your main base of operations. Read the note on the floor near the desk to learn about the security panels.


You’ll find a Map of the level on the same table you can interact with. It will give you a clear picture of the layout and the names of different rooms. Switch to UV Mode to see how the Underground connects to other levels, such as the Graveyard of Melodies or the Crystal Cave.

You’ll find some 9mm Ammo in the nearby wooden crates that you can break using the Crowbar.

Head towards the right to find a Computer system. You can interact with it, but it doesn’t work at this point. Take the nearby door instead. You’ll find a glitching object on the table. Read the Clipboard in the room to learn about Cursed Items. This will be useful when Samuel and Agatha move in.

Return to the area with the Radio and take the door on its right. You’ll notice a staircase leading up from the Underground right before you. You’ll use this to get to the next level later on.

As you explore this area, you’ll find that most doors are locked, and you have to find security codes to open them. You’ll find the codes as you progress through the different levels in Enigma of Fear, so don’t worry about them for now.

Loop around to the other side of the room, and you’ll find a note on the ground. Inspecting it shows an empty 9×9 grid. However, once you switch to UV Mode, you’ll see that some of the boxes are crossed off. This is your clue to unlocking the nearby Security Panel.


The grid resembles the keys on the Security Keypad.

Enter code 14698 into the keypad and hit the green button to open the door. You can now access the Director’s Room. There’s nothing much here except a Cassette Tape that gives you more lore into the world. You’ll also find a note on the bed and a picture near the television.

Exploring The Perimeter

After checking out the Director’s Room, all there’s to do is head to Enigma of Fear’s next chapter. But the game, being a semi-open world experience, lets you choose where to go next. You’ve got three options:

  • Graveyard of Melodies
  • Crystal Cave
  • Cathedral

We decided to go with Graveyard of Melodies, but you can go wherever you want. Use the staircase near the entrance to reach the Perimeter. Moving forward, you’ll find another stair leading to the main Perimeter area. This area is infested with Blood Zombies, but since they don’t respawn, feel free to take them down while you can.

Follow the path straight ahead and go right when you see a signboard to reach Crystal Cave. If you’d rather go to the Cathedral, pass the signboard, go through the broken fence, and keep heading left until you see another signboard. To reach the Graveyard of Melodies, open the nearby door and take the first right.

You can also reach Graveyard of Melodies by heading west from the Perimeter’s starting section.


Whichever chapter you decide to tackle next, once you find a radio and contact your team, you’ll find they’ve already moved into the Underground’s centra area. So, the next time you reach the location, you’ll be able to interact with them, and they’ll help you out with additional info to help you on your quest in Enigma of Fear.
