In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Melmetal is a decent ace Pokemon to build a deck around. Its greatest advantage is the potential to survive and counter Pikachu ex decks, which are currently thriving as a very popular meta deck in Genetic Apex. Melmetal has decent HP at 130 and takes a reduced 20 damage from attacks through its Hard Coat ability, which makes it quite capable of tanking hits. Furthermore, it has a powerful attack with Heavy Impact, which requires 4 Energy and deals 120 damage to the opponent. This can be boosted to 130 damage in a single turn with Giovanni, which is enough to knock out a number of ex cards, including Pikachu ex.

This card is s non-evolving single-stage Pokemon with decent HP at 70, and some utility to stall and disrupt your opponent through the Crunch attack, which discards an Energy from your opponent’s active Pokemon with each successful coin flip.
