Refilling your hand has never felt better than with Yzma, Conniving Chemist out. This inkable four-cost character gives you two strong options while it’s out; to draw cards or start questing. You can exert Yzma with her Feel the Power ability to draw until you have three cards in your hand if you have fewer than three cards in your hand.

This can net you anywhere from one to three cards in a turn, giving you the opportunity to dump your hand and then immediately refill it all in the same turn. If you’re in a place where you don’t need to or can’t draw cards, you can use Yzma to snag two lore, which is nothing to scoff at.

9 Maleficent’s Staff

A bit of a slow build, Maleficient’s Staff can accrue tons of lore for you over the course of a game just by hanging out on the battlefield for a few turns. This two-cost item lets you gain one lore anytime an opponent’s character, item, or location is bounced back to their hand.

There are plenty of ways to bounce things back to your opponent’s hand from play in both Emerald and Amethyst, so this card can pile up the lore pretty quickly. Maleficent’s Staff brings you closer to being able to build a pretty solid deck around this theme, so keep an eye on this card.

8 You Came Back

Lilo and Stitch come together once again in an incredibly powerful card that can create some great plays in the right deck. For three ink, you can play this card to ready a character. While that might not seem like it’ll do a lot, when you pair this card up with the right characters, you can get some major use out of it.

Pirates are the name of the game with Daisy Duck, Pirate Captain, giving you a solid incentive to build a Pirate deck off of this card alone. With this emerald Daisy Duck, you get to draw a card anytime a Pirate character quests while at a location thanks to her Distant Shores ability.

Get multiple copies of Daisy out, and you can draw multiple cards with each quest. She also will trigger her own Distant Shores ability if she quests while at a location, keeping your hand full of cards while getting closer and closer to winning the game.


6 Chip ‘N’ Dale, Recovery Rangers

The enchanted version of this very solid card, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Recovery Rangers is a great addition to the reanimator archetype, giving you a solid engine to ensure you never permanently lose a character again.

With their Search and Rescue ability, anytime you put a card into your inkwell, you can bring back a character card from your discard back to your hand. This character lets you be a bit more aggressive in your challenging or get back some of your early-game characters to keep your game going smoothly.

5 Tigger, In The Crow’s Nest

A very strong character for sneaking in some extra questing or challenging, Tigger, In the Crow’s Nest is a great way to keep the pressure on than scales with the more action cards you play in a turn.

With Tigger’s Swash Your Buckles ability, every action card to play gives Tigger +1 Strength and +1 Lore. With the right deck, and maybe some plays with You Came Back, you can get some incredible turns going, driving up those Lore counters and taking out some of your opponent’s characters.

4 Wreck-It Ralph, Ham Hands

This steel version of Wreck-It Ralph brings with it a strong ability that can let you quest for some serious lore. Anytime Ralph quests, you can banish an item or location to gain a bonus two lore.

This sets Ralph up to gain anywhere between three and five lore counters each turn you choose to quest with him. Where exactly this steel card fits into the meta given its six ink cost remains to be seen, but it can still be a great option depending on your meta.

3 Basil, Disguised Detective

An exceptionally strong character for Emerald decks, Basil, Disguised Detective comes in and turns all your ink drops into card disadvantage for your opponents. With Basil’s Twists and Turns ability, every time a card enters your inkwell on your turn, you can pay one ink to have an opponent discard a card.

Basil might cost six ink, but he can shift for four if you have another Basil out. Or, even better, you can shift him onto Morph, Space Goo given its Mimicry ability. With a little bit of ramp and plenty of inkable cards, you’ll be taking control of the game.


2 Baymax, Personal Healthcare Companion

Keeping your cards in tip top shape is all Baymax, Personal Healthcare Companion is worried about, that and a little bit of questing too. A great character for healing your team, Baymax can have you pay two ink to remove one damage from another character. With enough extra ink, you can keep your other characters full healed turn after turn.

The nice thing with this Baymax is that you’ll likely never pay the full amount for play it. With the Fully Charged ability you’ll pay one ink less to play it so long as you have an Inventor character out.

1 Tiana, Restaurant Owner

Enchanted – $174.10

Taxing effects are pretty strong, and one that keeps your characters safe through practically any attack is going to be a huge boon to your strategy. With Tiana’s ability, Special Reservation, anytime one of your characters is challenged while Tiana is exerted, the challenging character gets -3 strength unless your opponent pays three ink.

The artwork for Tiana, Restaurant Owner is fantastic, depicting her in the center of her restaurant, with waiters dancing around her, her friends and family behind her, and the trumpet playing alligator enjoying the nightlife.
