If you’re urgently running out of disk space for your favorite games, this Samsung external SSD deal offers a great way to quickly solve the problem without sacrificing performance. The Samsung T7 Portable range of external SSDs, excluding the smallest 500GB model, is currently on sale on Amazon, with up to 48% off the retail price. You’ll need to be quick, though, as these are limited-time deals.
This particular Samsung drive is one of the best external SSD options you can buy for your gaming PC on a budget, offering decent connection speeds and lots of storage for the price. While its bigger brother, the T7 Shield, is more robust, the Samsung T7 Portable is still a great option for gamers who need to quickly expand their storage at home.
Right now, the best deal is on the 2TB Samsung T7 Portable, which is currently on sale for $139.99, down from the $254.99 Samsung list price. That’s a huge $115 saving, and while it isn’t the lowest ever price on Amazon for this drive, a half-price 2TB SSD for just under $140 from a trusted brand such as Samsung is still a damn good deal.
Good deals can be had on the other sizes, too. The 1TB model is just $88, a cool 38% off the $144.99 Samsung list price. The 4TB version, meanwhile, is at its lowest ever price at just $239.99, down from Amazon’s list price of $288.49. Unfortunately, only the Titan Gray version of the Samsung T7 Portable seems to be in stock at the moment, excluding the 500GB model, which isn’t on sale.
The Samsung T7 Portable offers up to 1,000MB/s read and 1,050MB/s write sequential speeds, so while it can’t compete with a brand new, internal PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive, the T7’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface makes it significantly faster than any 2.5-inch SATA SSD that you might have, as well as double the speeds available from the older Samsung T5 model.
Those speeds aren’t just great for quickly transferring files to your drive, but they open up this drive for game installs as well. It could easily double up as a quick overflow drive for your massive games library. Along with decent speeds, the drive also comes with a three-year warranty as standard.
This great SSD proves you don’t need an internal upgrade to massively expand your storage options—just plug it into a USB-C port, or use a USB-C to A adapter, and you’ll be set. While it does support USB 3.2 Gen 2, it’s also backward compatible with other USB 3.0 ports, although you will see a drop in speeds.
To grab one of these incredibly affordable external Samsung SSDs, you’ll need to head over to Amazon. You can grab the 1TB model via this link, the 2TB model using this link, or the 4TB model here instead, while stocks last.
Need an even faster upgrade? You should think about a new internal SSD. Check out our best gaming SSD shortlist for some great expansion options, but make sure to look at our guide on how to install an SSD first if you’ve never done it before.
